Windows Security Update
Microsoft will soon (today or tomorrow) release a big security update to fix 12 software flaws. Nine of the updates apply to the Win OS, two are for Office, and one is critical.
It is a good idea to apply the patch. One of the patches for Office is for Word. There’s a bug/loophole in it, and the virus created to exploit it has been named Backdoor.Ginwui. The virus and loophole were discovered last month. The virus travels in an e-mail bearing a Word document as an attachment. Just as an FYI for any Pixie running Win98 or WinME – MS support ends next month. |
I get them automatically...that way i dont forget to do it lol

i am not promoting piracy, but this patch will more than likely contain the new WGA patch for windows and office, the first one will detect you have a pirated copy of windows and will add a splash sceen to your windows stating you are running an suspect copy of windows and is designed to annoy the crap out of you, it does nothing else accept blocks you from getting some updates, the office one on the other hand disables office and stops you from uninstalling it all together, so this is mr gates new "you want to play, you got to pay" rule, i have no problem with this but how many court cases has there been against ms for stealing other companys software, kind of a double standard to me.

Piracy is piracy....and all have the right to protect their product....Windows XP isnt that expensive...specially if you have kids (even if ya dont...borrow some *LOL*)
Lucky to have gotten as long as most did with 98 and ME Can't blame em for stopping support...can then put those working on that to more use with the current technology |
i don't blame them. i agree they're allowed to do whatever they want...just sucks fer me is all. :D

The only problem with that is with some older computers with less memory and slower processors windows XP ends up either slowing them down or eating up so much memory that the computer crashes on start up. |
Shit happens Booger.....people then need to look at upgrading or buying new
