Transitions — Caspar Weinberger
Caspar Weinberger, who served in both the Reagan and Nixon Administrations, has died from complications of pneumonia. He was 88 years old.
Interestingly, his two roles were quite different. In 1981 Mr. Weinberger joined the Reagan administration and presided over a period of massive military spending. However, in his earlier service in Washington, he managed the federal budget for President Nixon, during which he earned the nickname "Cap the Knife" for pushing through a series of spending cuts. A man much given to public service. RIP sir. |
A dedicated public servant! rip

Like jasper wine and sugar, I wonder if it's blown thru other's feet, Like those of Casper Weinberger" - Berke Breathed, "Bloom County" |
And so ends the Casper and Olie show.
