Bunch of smart arsses them Aussies, they are. They didn’t build their cities below sea level. WTF? What kind of challenge is that? I suppose ol Johnny Howard didn't find a horses ass, I mean horse show judge, to deal with this either. And then they have the nerve to let all the departments involved talk to each other and they even know where their stuff is at. Bunch of candy-asses if you ask me.
;) It sounds like it is forecast to hit north of our known Pixies at present. Our thoughts are with all who will come to know nature more intimately. :( |
I know one Pixie who isnt too far from the drop zone (wont say who incase he doesnt wish to be on the map) and he better be lookin after his ass!
It hit land at around 7:30am QLD time...its ripped roofs off and done quite a lot of structural damage. But as for human casualties....none are known as yet I imagine more will come when the mop up begins Cyclone Larry has just been downgraded to a Cat3 cyclone (was when hit land a Cat5) |
|
Our hearts and prayers go out to all that might be affected. Sounds like the authorities had a pretty good handle on things and were tending to business to try and keep people as safe as possible.
God bless. |

For all our newer Aussie members ……….Pixies Civil Defense Note: 7:30 AM QLD time, Monday = 16:30 EST, Sunday (or 4:30 in the second, 12 hour half of the AM/PM day  ) 290Km/h winds = 180 mph |
Hoping everyone is ok!
|

My thoughts are with you!
|

they now have another one forming and is expected to come in behind larry,
PF the queenslanders where smart enough to build their house up on stilts so they dont get flood damage ect, http://www.lilybank.com.au/lilybank.htm though it didnt help darwin when tracey hit in 74 |
Latest word here is that no one was killed. At least there's good news there. although the flooding and damage to people's homes in quite extensive. Lot of hardship involved, unfortunately.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060320...stralia_cyclone Although I do note that the disater coordinator spokesman has his shit together, to whit: State Disaster Coordination Center spokesman Peter Rekers warned residents to stay on their guard for deadly animals stirred up by the storm. "Most of the casualties and deaths resulting from cyclones happen after the storm has passed," he warned. "Keep your kids away from flooded drains, be aware of snakes and crocodiles. Those guys will have had a bad night too." |
Saw pic of Larry hitting land on Fox News earlier.
