RIP Denis "Piggy" D'Amour
Guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour passed away Friday night (August 26) at approximately 11:45 p.m. due to complications from advanced colon cancer — so advanced that the disease had spread to his liver. D'Amour slipped into a coma Thursday night and died less than 24 hours later in the palliative care unit of a Montreal hospital, surrounded by family and friends.
He was 45 years old.

I had the pleasure of seeing Voivod in concert and standing no less than 10 feet from Piggy. He was an amazing guitarist and it was obvious he loved playing. Their album 'The Outer Limits' is one of my all time favorites... I am so bummed right now.

I've heard of the band thru a friend...but it was a while ago and can't recall the tunage cause I was prolly high at the time *hangs head and blushes*

Never heard of them but my condolences Aqua, it's always sad to see such talent leave early, especially in such a horrible way.

thats terrible. i've heard of them, jason newsted from metallica joined them for awhile i beleive. never did get to hear their music though.

Newsted's still with them. They were working on a new album and are still planning to release it as a tribute to Piggy.
