I have often wondered about this....

Measured objectively, what a man can wrest from Truth by passionate striving is utterly infinitesimal. But the striving frees us from the bonds of the self and makes us comrades of those who are the best and the greatest.

Personally, I want to know:
Do Deeper Principles Underlie Quantum Uncertainty and Nonlocality?
What powers quasars?
How do proteins find their partners?
....

Ok....I want to know them all. It makes me realize how little we understand, and how personally ignorant I am.

I had sent a link to this to PF earlier in the day!

I don't have a scientific mind & I leave it to the scientists to question why we have so few genes (er, I didn't know we only had a few -- ya see? I have no clue!). If there is life on other planets, I hope they're treating theirs better than we are ours, etc. I'm too hippie, Mother Earth to ponder the big questions.

One that did stand out for me was "Is an HIV vaccine feasible?" because of my ex.

I dunno, I'm still working on "paper or plastic?"...

The answer is "42."

Sorry.

:)

Special thanks to the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" for cutting through all the scientific mumbo-jumbo and giving us instead the answer to the question, "Life, the universe, and everything."

Oldfart 07-08-2005 05:25 AM

I too want them all.

Speaking of science ... read this ...

A research team proceeded towards the apex of a natural geologic protuberance, the purpose of their expedition being the procurement of a sample of fluid hydride of oxygen in a large vessel, the exact size of which was unspecified.

One member of the team precipitously descended, sustaining severe damage to the upper cranial portion of his anatomical structure; subsequently the second member of the team performed a self-rotational translation oriented in the same direction taken by the first team member.

In simple English what does this translate to??

Jack and Jill went up the hill
to fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down and broke his crown
and Jill came tumbling after.

disckbro,

Good one. :)

LixyChick 07-08-2005 09:55 AM

Wow! All of them and more! I've a very inquisitive mind!

For example: What was the best thing BEFORE sliced bread?

But seriously...all the questions are very interesting!
