The Ultimate Screw
An article appeared in the British press regarding Unemployment and prostitution in Germany. Two years ago Germany legalized brothels, taxing them as any other business and requiring employers to pay health benefits like any other business. Now, the brothels are permitted to recruit from the ranks of any unemployed persons collecting benefits through the system. If one refuses to take the interview, unemployment benefits can be terminated without recourse. If the unemployment bureau fails to withdraw benefits, they can be sued by the brothels. All this is legal under the law.
And you thought you were screwed with the job you have. |
 can your benefits also be terminated if you are offered the job but turn it down?

wow....there's something twitchy making about the idea of women being forced to work in a brothel. If it's what they want to do, I'm not going to get in their way....but penalizing them for not doing it has got to be a problem. If Germany has gotten itoself into a corner by decriminalizing prostitution, maybe they could fix it by claiming that willingness to have sex for money is a specialized qualification not met by everyone? Gotta figure there's a way to fix this one....

The right hand doesn't know what left hand is screwing up.
And people wonder why Germany has a strong economy. |
