Why is the World Series called that when there are only US teams in it?

Toronto, Canada has the Blue Jays, and, until the end of this season, Montreal had the Expos. Other than that...

YAY!! The Cards won and will face the Red Sox in the series!!

Oh, and I think it is pretty lame that it's called the World Series when there are only teams from two different countries. Then they call the winner, 'World Champion'. :rolleyes: Whatev... :p

I went to be bleary eyed and happy last night. Hopefully I'll get a good night's sleep tonight so I can be rested up for Saturday. Chips and Bass Ale at my place...c'mon over! (but use a coaster...new table. :rolleyes: )

WE LOVE THE CARDS IN COLORADO TOO..well since the Rockies will probably never make it. I am happy for Larry Walker, to me he will always be a Rockie. He deserves to be on a winning team. Go Cards!!!
