I highly recommend snopes.com, if something doesn't ring true, look it up there. They de-bunk much of the stuff that is circulating out there.

We have unconfirmed reports that BORU's account was temporarily tampered with earlier today. Apparently several links appeared in a post under his name that lead directly to suspected government dis-information sites which closely resemble REAL websites that serve the public by debunking urban legends.

Oh cool I wondered what that was....I was too impatient to wait for it to load, took for freakin ever and I was on cable so I gave up. Glad Teddy found that URL, too.

The real interesting part is that we used similar titles to our threads and also with our comments.

Good question!

It is interesting to see how certain threads receive many views and posts, while other, and to my eye, quite similar threads vanish, making harly a ripple. I remember thinking of this when I followed the link above. I'm unsure if there are any "causes" or if it is merely random.

I believe it was Mark Twain who said the Rumor can make its way around the world while the Truth is still putting on its pants...
