Is there a mathematician in the house?

Ok ladies and gentlemen, I have decided to go back to school. Probably at the spring semester. A friend gave me the website for the ACT test seeing as how I'm gonna have to take it over again. I took a few of the practice tests today and realized......I'm a mathematical retard! LOL Anyone have any suggestions or websites I can go to to get some help or maybe even free tutoring? Specificaly algebra and trig are kicking my ass. So if anyone out there can help...thanks in advance!

I suck but made it through, took all the remedial stuff but made good grades. It was getting the right teacher who finally made me "get it". I'd be glad to try to help where I can.

I highly recommend buying one of those prep books. I used Kaplan for the ACT and it gave you the basics of alegebra, trig, etc. and it also explained how they got answers. The books may seem overpriced, but trust me they are well worth it!! Good luck hon!

if you just need a refresher, you might consider wondering to a campus or bn.com and picking up a used algebra and trig text book. I know there are plenty of prep books. When I took the GMAT, there was a pretty extensive one that came free with sample questions, answers, and an explanation of how they got to the answer. Not sure if the ACT is the same. I think I got the books when I registered for the test.

You can often check the Test Preps books out of your local libraries.

So far it all sounds good....I bought one of those "ACT for Dummies" books a few years ago when I was thinking about going back to school...but can't find it. I'll check the Library one day this week. Thanks to everyone!
