I have made several friends on Pixies and feel I get too close to them.

Do any of you feel the same way? That you get too many feelings involved?

And end up getting hurt?

I've made friends through various sites, message boards, etc online. I've been hurt by letting people in before getting to know them enough, but that is a part of any relationship. The only significant difference I see between the "real world" development of relationships and online is that manipulations and deceits are easier to pull off online, with individuals portraying themselves as someone other than who they actually are or hiding information from me.

I think it really depends on what the relationship is and how both parties view it.

I think you just have to look at them differently than real world relationships...until you really get to know them, then there are those online that I would do as much for as my friends that live down the road.

online friends can be great to get you through whatever you are needing at that moment. lies are always something you risk not knowing the other party in person. i think we should all just get together in a long line and hold hands. we could have a pixie dance and all be merry. this could however turn into a conga line of sexual torment fueled by desire and lust. yup i like pixies.



if i ever meet a pixie i will post the details so you all will know if he/she is genuine.

I agree with you completely.

Been on both sides of this one ~~ I'm afraid I hurt people's feelings sometimes because I travel a lot and go AWOL for days/weeks at a time. It's hard to have even a cyber relationship when you live out of a suitcase.

But there are several people on here who I wish I had more time for.........and they often inspire me to quit my job so I can spend more time online. :D

You can have tons of time to be online if you just learn to say this phrase.. "You want fries with that?"

I have been chatting for several months now and have made very close friendships from different message boards and meeting in chat rooms.

I do get personally involved with many and it can get complicated when feelings take over. I have been lied to before and that can hurt.

The key is to keep everything in perspective which is a lot easier to say then to do.

I was thinking more along the lines of ... "Hey baby, lookin' for a good time?"
