God I hate E-mail!!!
As much as I love keeping in touch with friends and family, I so dread checking my mail! All the filters and protection are just not enough! Today I recieved one of those Nigerian scam emails! I can't believe the things people try! I have two email accounts, one that I use to register for sites etc...to try to avoid all the spam. That poor account gets about 160 junk emails a day! The other account is for friends and family and still with the highest setting on for filtering I recieve SPAM! Yuck!!!!

Can I just add a small bitch about the peeps who feel the need to forward me an email that has 489238957243905 forwards enclosed before I reach the gut email which is typically some "send this to 5 special ladies" bullshit chain thing.

We receive at least 100 spam emails an hour at work. I'm glad they're charging hardcore spammers but it'll never stop, I'm sure.

I hate that too! Oh and another gripe...being on someone's mailing group and they send you something that has no relevance to you. Come on people take a minute to make sure who and what you are sending!

We have a filtering program at work...it is expensive, but sooooo worth it. One of my bosses gets over 300 spams a day, but this filter *really* blocks them. I just have to remember to check the log every now and then to make sure it didn't catch something it wasn't supposed to. :)

I hate when I've sent something to someone (NOT a mass mailer!) and they then forward it to some of their friends, including me.

FIG
That's my answer to such problems. I use the FIG filter system. I MADE the FIG filter system. When I open my e-mail I just look first for anything without a subject or senders name that I recognize. I just tap the FIG button for anything like that. Any attachments that don’t open by the second layer, FIG. If I see my name in a group address with names I don’t recognize, it gets FIG. If the preview window fills with colors when I highlight it……….. Fuck It- GONE! It’s been working pretty well ;) |
