Mercury_Maniac 05-17-2004 10:45 PM

flutelady 05-17-2004 10:52 PM

Try $2.26 for the "cheap stuff"... unreal

Vigil 05-17-2004 11:13 PM

Try over $5.50 in the UK.

Oil is a commodity like any other in a global market - there are problems with supply and increased demand from China and the US for the summer months.

BIGbad 05-17-2004 11:29 PM

$1.99 today in the northeast

Nice Guy 05-17-2004 11:51 PM

2.21 is the cheapest around here. Goes up about 4 cents a week.

peck 05-18-2004 05:20 AM

$1.82 in the southeast for the 87 octane

naughtyangel 05-18-2004 05:38 AM

$0.98 cents per litre today for regular self serve

(sorry, I'm mathematically challenged, so I can't give all you Americans a conversion!)

Oldfart 05-18-2004 05:52 AM

$AU1.06.9/Litre yesterday for Lead Replacement Super.

About $US3.20 per US Gallon.

Lilith 05-18-2004 06:59 AM

$2.03

Our brilliant state government has decided for the month of August to decrease our gas tax by.08 cents. That would be all well and good except that the gas companies are not going to lower their prices the whole .08 cents and the $$ will go directly to the oil companies and not the consumers.

Gilly 05-18-2004 06:59 AM

It was 2.07 yesterday, last week for about 4 hours, it spiked to 2.19, and went right back down to 2.07. On the news last night, they showed prices through out the year, and said that since Jan 1st, it's spiked a total of $.52 (not counting in last weeks brief spike)

Aqua and I were discussing this and he showed me a graph that showed the oil prices since 1947. From 1979-1986 the price of oil was unbelievably high. I'll be curious to see these next few years on the graph to see if the price is actually that high or if we are just being gouged.

osuche 05-18-2004 08:11 AM

$2.29 for the 93 octane. Yikes!

scotzoidman 05-18-2004 08:44 AM

just hit $1.93/gal here

For those on the metric, roughly 4 litres/liters to a gallon...just multiply by 4

denny 05-18-2004 10:03 AM

$2.56 for 93 octane in San Diego
