An expert who advised on how to protect children from paedophiles has been jailed for seven years for the "systematic abuse" of three young girls.
Stephen King, 54, who lectured on how to protect children, had sex with a 10-year-old, a court heard.

King, of Herne Hill, south London, pleaded guilty to 21 counts, including sex with a girl under 13 and 10 cases of indecent assault.

He had taken 500 photographs and kept a diary of each sexual encounter.

He also kept a video showing acts of indecency with the girls, which took place between October 1996 and the end of 1999.

The three girls were aged between nine and 13 years old.

Peter Zinner, prosecuting, said all three victims had been deeply traumatised by the experience, with one attempting suicide by taking an overdose and slashing her wrists with broken glass.
Mr Zinner told Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court that King portrayed himself as an expert in child protection and had conveyed his "expertise" to the Crown Prosecution Service, Metropolitan Police and other agencies.

He was even credited in the final recommendations in the Court of Appeal on offering advice on sentences for paedophiles.

"Behind that veneer of respectability there was a dark secret," said Mr Zinner.

Previous convictions

Mr Zinner described the video as unique because "it is the first time that the police have an actual record of a paedophile grooming and conditioning a child and then committing acts of sexual abuse".

Investigations into King began in July last year when officers arrived at his home on suspicion of benefit fraud.

While at the property, one officer saw pornographic material by the defendant's computer.

Police then discovered King had been convicted in 1989 - under a different name - of gross indecency as well as making indecent material and was sentenced to six months in jail.

King was also investigated in 1999 on suspicion of indecent assault against the three girls involved in this case, but not enough evidence was found to prosecute.

William Nash, defending, said King was remorseful and hoped to be able to apologise to the girls one day.

I always found it ironic that many arsonists were firefighters too.

yeah that's about how it goes, in order to make their problem ( sick one at that) acceptable they trun the the opposite of it is to throw everyone off and for them to get off.........some people deserve to be shot.

Hate to say this.....and usually don't (I try to never judge a book by it's cover).....but he looks like he had to be guilty of SOMETHING! Geezzzzzz!

The shame is that society will probably spend tens of thousands of dollars/pounds keeping him year after year after year. One sick creature.

What a drag! Those poor kids.

I wonder if there had not been a video if anything would have been done. As I have posted on here before, I reported things going on to do with a couple of sites on the net. As there was no pictures to be had, the cops didn't give a shit.

I'd say string him up, old Indian style- butt ass naked under the blazing sun, staked to the ground, and free for torment. Maybe take a carrot peeler or cheese slicer to his dick. Sick fuck. God, I hope he get's raped hourly in jail.

In my city we have Dudley Dorights who have programs to take in these men upon release from jail. Right now a paedophile with a forty year history of convictions for abusing kids, stalking, indecent exposure. The list is endless. He was released with strict conditions.....for a year he will be not be allowed out in public without someone in attendance. The city is in an uproar and petitions are being gathered to have him removed from here and of course it will prove a pointless excersise. So he will be babysat for a year and then be given privilges to go out and about to re-offend once more, for after a year has passed most people will forget he is here......but other than lynching what is the solution? One of my kid's teachers, a children's lawyer for our local Child Protection Agency, a scout leader, and a cop in town here all are offenders......many many more too I assume, but what can be done when the offender can be anyone's family member.
We must do more to educate our kids and parents for so many think it can't happen to them and it most definately can for I take kids in my home who are victims of this and I see the long term damage that has been inflicted upon them. I say....lock them up and throw away the key until they are "cured". That will be forever for there is no cure and these monsters think they are doing what comes natural.

And mothers who go nuts and kill them is something that comes naturally too.

Oh I'm all for that too if we lived in a perfect world.

Unfortunately it's against the law too.

I would have without hesitation murdered someone if they molested my children when they were young and my grandson now.

In general I am only for violence between consenting adults :D but I know myself well enough to know I'd lack the control necessary to avoid letting my motherly instincts take over.

And the ironic thing is that we would get more jail time than the molester.
