Name pronouncation
I have come across this name:
Jana Is it pronounced "Jar-ner" or "J-ner" ? If anyone knows, please do post here. |
Ja na short Aa sounds on both like as in banana
RyanČ,
I think Lilith's suggestion is correct. |
and if the name derives from dutch extraction it could be pronounced as "Yah na" like the composer Yanni
Lilith's suggestion would certainly be the "american english" pronounciation... but heck.. who knows with so many other versions of english and so many dialects.
I always liked to use the universal pronounciation ...
"HEY, YOU!" :D :D |
LOL @ DB...always works!
I would pronounce it the way Lilith described, personally |
I have a friend with that name.
Here it would be pronounced as "Yah-na"

LOL...so do I :) |
and how do you pronounce it?
Jana Jana bo-Bana Bo-fanna fana fo-fana...Fi Fie foe fanna....JANA
Yeah, I agree guys, I've been pronouncing it as "Jarner" since I knew this name, and I think that is correct, as well as damn cute!
BTW guys, if you want some links to this Czech hottie, I'm only just a PM away!
OMG! I gotta ask this.....I can't control myself!
Ryan? There is no "r" in the way you spelled the name.....so why would you put 2 r's in the pronunciation? <-----is the ever curious one....and hey....I gotta be me....so sue me! :jester: |
