What makes a person a "jerk"?

It is just a simple question; well actually I am currently am at odds with some who I think qualifies

Well for me a jerk is someone who doesn't take a hint when you tell them to leave you alone, or someone that thinks that there is only one point of view, "their's"

I agree with olive-eyes' observation/definition. A 'jerk' can also be someone who calls you a 'jerk' to avoid accepting responsibility for their own issues!

In addition to not accepting responsibility for his actions a jerk is also one who tries to make an issue debate something personal when he fails to make a point. You have a different opinion and suddenly you're an idiot. Usually I'm through with the discussion when this happens, as well as any more anytime soon.

A sarcastic, self-serving, be all / end all, opinionated, know it all, who feels he/she is totally above you in this world and you, as the low-life, should bend over so she/he can fuck you in the ass without any vaseline (sorry - just an expression - you all know what I mean)...........

I think jerkness (ok so it isnt a word, fuck off) is a state of mind and all of us have it in us when it comes to certain people..

I always say, all men have the potential to be an asshole, all women have the potential to be a bitch...some people just show their potential all the time or more than others :D
