Music Paper Topics
I have been assigned the task of writing a paper that has something to do with music. The topic can be anything I find interesting, but it has to be related to music.
You are an intelligent and musical group of people. Want to throw some ideas at me? ;) |
How long is it supposed to be and what exactly is the class?

This is a place you can buy papers but it may give you some ideas there are a zillion topics and synopses. |
I'd write mine on music as an aphrodisiac :D
|
How about your environmental imprinting by music?

How about the evolution of clasical music and it's applications on present-day musical genres?
|
From Uncle Remus to Queen Latifa

Thanks for the ideas y'all.
Lilith, it's Music Appreciation. Prof. said the paper should be appropriate length for the topic, no specific length. Thanks for the link, it's awesome! The topic I am leaning towards at the moment is Music of the Middle Ages, but I can always change my mind. :) |
Negro spirituals and field chants would be a great one too!
|
I did a graduate course in Musicology and it was on Folk music. I showed the evolution in Newfoundland music from the beginning to modern-day times. I played samples of the music, too. It was a fun paper to write!
Other people compared different musical styles in the different regions of Canada and the U.S. For example, one friend studied the different styles of fiddling in North America. |
I love your classes Scarlett!
BCG's idea was fantastic! To further the idea........how bout..... The effect of music on our moods! Just as color can make or break a mood.....so, too, can music! Just a thought hun........good luck! Let us know what you decide....k? |
Thanks everyone! I knew I would get great ideas from you all.
|
Right now, I am still leaning towards Music of the Middle Ages. I have been searching around the Net and found some topics to include in the paper. How's this sound: an intro, the different types of music played then and how they came about (chants and such), the 2 main styles of music, important composers of the day, the instruments that were played, and a conclusion?
Sound like a paper to you? :) |
Perfect!
|
sounds like you've got it nailed
