Just a query for those out there more 'techie' than me

I keep getting intrusion attempts on my puter(they attempted the connect via the NetBus Trojan Horse)....the most recent one was from

209.213.76.242 [chaos.dynastynet.net]

Which originated from this Network

Meganet Communications
Fall River, MA

Tell me....is this dynasty net the same one that is used for the chat here at Pixies??

well, with as many people as could possibly be using their IRC servers, who knows who might be the actual origin. It may not even be due to our room, just that we're connected to it!

What kind of virus protection do you use Sharniqua? I love my Nortons. Catches tons of unwanted garbage, including gum wrappers and old string. LOL

I highly recommend ZoneAlarm for intrusion attempts (if you're not already behind a firewall!). I have used Norton AV in the past, and I've got McAfee right now. Don't have a real preference in that department.

I'm a loyal Norton person...McAfee sux (except their stinger program)

I use Norton Professional Anti virus and Security...The security is what catches the attempts

I get about 10-40/day....and it gets on my nerve that people do it.....

Our cablemodem is plugged into a wireless router/firewall, so I honestly don't worry about it that much. I'm usually the one maintaining the firewall settings :)

My security locks them out, so not really a worry for me either.....but i think about all the people who are unknowingly being hacked....

Thats what pisses me off.....and if i can put a stop to even one of the bastards, i will!!

Sharni~ dynasty net has been having a severe problem and keeps shutting everything down because of it. I will report it to Max. It is a bot that is accessing their system and they keep jerking Jupiter and all the bots to rid the system. Thanks for letting me know!!!!
