Sad news today, LOS ANGELES, July 4 — Velvet-voiced R&B crooner Barry White, renowned for his lush baritone and carnal lyrics that oozed sex appeal on songs such as “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe,” died Friday morning, his manager said. White, who had suffered kidney failure from years of high blood pressure, died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center around 9:30 a.m., said manager Ned Shankman. He was 58.

A very sad day indeed. Many of you may not recognize the above song, tho may be more familiar with "My first, My Last, My everything" which was heard many times over the course of the "Ally McBeal" series.

In my opinion, Mr. White was one of the leading suppliers of true sensual tunes... I for one will miss his talent and am very saddened by the loss...

May he sing with angels.....

I was watching "A Baby Story" one day and the woman they profiled was Barry White's daughter. She went over to his house and hung out - he was sooooooooooooo mellow!!!!!!

I saw him on the news last night but I didn't have the sound up, so I didn't know what they were talking about. How sad :(

I told you before.....I am ALWAYS the last to know things! I am in shock now! What a fabulous entainer BW was! An incredible voice the likes of which we will cherish but will never be duplicated! No need for anyone to ever try! There will always only be ONE Barry White!

Gotta agree jennaflower. The man was a great. His recordings were a wonderful inspiration to all the ladies I've dated over the years. He will be missed.
