Celebrating My Anniversary Weekend
 

This really is a very special weekend for me aside from the holiday. It was two years ago that I happened upon Pixies. It would be a couple of months before I’d officially join as that is NOT something I tend to do online:mad:. While I had been working with personal computers for well over a decade and a half (TRASH-80 days), it had been just that. Work applications only.

Business and research with Free Nets was my online experience as I knew what wonderful things it could do for me. Getting Quatro and Paradox to do things was so great after learning AutoCad could do tricks that I had a hard time doing with a drafting machine. I knew people were starting to buy them as over priced typewriters and card files:rolleyes: but I had stumbled onto some of the things it really could do. Besides, who would want to “talk” to people they didn’t know……… and about what? The World Wide Web was starting to explode as a marketing device. Nup! This was a hell of a lot more than a toy to me. LMAO I had a 486 (upgraded from a $1500 386SL) sitting here before I actually started “surfing” just for the hell of it. It didn’t take long to find how available good porn was. I didn’t even have a single porn site in my Favorites at that time.

With the long boring holiday weekend of July 4th, 2001 and being horny as a Mack truck, I decided to read some good porn when I happened into Pixies. Still don’t know why I fumbled into the forum as I didn’t normally care what others thought about a story I was reading. Would it say what I wanted to hear? After a few brief clicks, it was apparent that these were from actual people and not a marketing department. I read for most of the weekend.:) I read EVERY post to date!:D (not that many at that time. lol) By the end I knew some of the personalities that frequented the place. For the next month I was peeking back a couple times a week. This damned thing was going like a soap opera. The following month I checked in almost every day.:o Somewhere along the line I had gotten a Pixie mailbox. I’m not sure if you had to do that to view the pics, but you didn’t have to “COMMIT”:eek: to a registration in order to look at them. LOL

I had found actual people that I didn’t know that I DID want to talk to. You could have laid some good odds and won if you would have bet I’d have a web site and people from the net that would become a part of my life. I think I’ll take the rest of THIS July 4th weekend and ponder what’s happened to me:cool:.

Happy two years and you're right. This place is pretty real. Thats what makes it so damn addictive.

Congrats PF, you're one of the reasons this place is such a cool hangout. I've got a ways to go to make my 2nd year but I'm not goin' anywhere. (especially since I know where to send my CAD questions now LOL) Many many happy returns Bro'!

I know I read the forums for a few days before I broke down and registered and you were one of the 'regulars' whose postings caught my attention. (That was before your facination for statistics became so apparent....:D)
You always have just a little different take on the topics....that's just one of the things I love about you. Another is that you usually understand where I'm coming from on some topics. Guess it comes from growing up in the same era, having the same points of reference, and being brought up with similar values.
I'm grateful we've become friends and I'm extremely proud to call you MY FRIEND!!

Congrats PF :) I wouldn't want to imagine this place without you... because everything you found 2 years ago, you have only improved on by adding your wonderful wit, charm, and sexiness. Thanks for sharing yourself with us for 2 years now... and I so look forward to all of this continuing :)
