~YaHoo Assholio~

Has anyone ever asked permission to add you to their Yahoo list, say it's someone new, and you are trying to be friendly, only to without even asking try to look in your shared files??????

Is it just me or is that rude as hell?????

Sharni 06-02-2003 04:22 AM

Dunno Lil...never happened to me as i dont allow file access unless i give permission

But if it did happen....i'd be pissed!!

LixyChick 06-02-2003 05:17 AM

I don't know to be quite honest! I am dumber than a box of rocks about puters! How would I know this? Geezzzzzzz I hate to have to ask but I swear I wouldn't know about any of this if I didn't read it here....from all you smart people!

Sugarsprinkles 06-02-2003 06:24 AM

It happened to me once, with a member of Pixies. I quickly blocked him from my list after that. Haven't seen him around for quite some time, come to think of it. No loss as far as I'm concerned.

jennaflower 06-02-2003 06:38 AM

nope... hasn't happened to me.. :) Yet.. LOL

Steph 06-02-2003 06:49 AM

Nope, hasn't happened to me, either but I get bugged by people I don't know asking to add them to my contact list.

Lilith 06-02-2003 07:11 AM

Sharni~ I don't either....so I get the permission box and decline.

skipthisone 06-02-2003 07:39 AM

Has happened to me a few times...but then again I do that in public...just reach for a woman's box...always get rejected too..

Oldfart 06-02-2003 08:57 AM

Never been asked.

gekkogecko 06-02-2003 09:19 AM

I neatly prevent this fromhappening by not having any yahoo lists where I wouldn't want the files to actually be shared.

don73153 06-02-2003 09:26 AM

Yes it is rude, Lil, but you let them in. Give them an inch, and they'll take a mile!

Maybe you can lock it up, but let visitors ONLY view the 'shared file'.

I have files and pics in there that NOBODY sees. Backup, you know?

quisath 06-02-2003 09:59 AM

Don has the right idea Lilith.................Myself I tend to be suspicious of New Friends until I get to know them better. You know.............................Crack um on the ASS and see how they react. (wrong reaction and their outta there) ;)

Lilith 06-02-2003 11:17 AM

I have the folder closed unless I give permission, that was not my issue. My issue was the nerve of strangers thinking that because I was polite they could do as they please. Good thing is it tips me off to keep and eye on them here as well.

babybunny 06-02-2003 12:29 PM

Never had it happen...yet.

You can usually tell what kind of person one is by the way they act on those IMs....Thank God for the block button. :)
