*Political Politeness*

Hi all you Lovies!

I have been trying to keep an eye on all these political threads. It is only natural at a time like this that people will want to discuss the events and explain their views and feelings on it. It is a global world and Pixies is a global community. I hope that will be taken into consideration when people decide to post.

As you all know we have never and will never permit flaming or allow people to personally attack another person here. So I have continued to watch the threads...... when the threads have begun to heat up or begun to turn personal I have moved them to a time out bin. I am not a huge fan of censorship and do not want to try to dig through threads to delete single posts because usually it is not one post but the direction the thread is heading and deleting a single post would not help.

I do not want to discourage people from discussing important issues. I feel intelligent ideas, shared, are part of what makes this site so fabulous but I wanted you to be aware of why some threads may seem to have disappeared. I will continue to remove threads/posts that are personal attacks, overtly rude or hostile. So just be forewarned before you post. Keep to discussing the issues not the character of the other posters in that thread please.

If you have a questions or concerns please feel free to PM me any time.

Political Politeness is an oxymoron.

Vigil 02-28-2003 10:34 AM

What's my dungeon time then?

Sorry Panty - but Lilith's right they both come from the greek word polis - the city state and relate to the conditions of living in a community.

I think it was a joke Vigil :)

Lilith, as long as the threads are being moved because things are getting heated and people are getting personal, that's ok.
The only time I won't support it is if they're being moved because you or someone doesn't agree with something someone said. And I know that'll never happen.

Thanks Lilith and all the other mods, for your continued and vigilant work!
Pixies is great in part because of what you do for it!

The only thing that I have found is that if you disagree with someones views, they block your access to their threads.I don't
personally care, but I have never found the awnser by putting
blinders on.As far as I have found, the whole world has different
opinions,on things. Irish
P.S.The opinions voiced are Irishs opinions only and should be attributed only to him!

No views like good views to see the view.

Irish~Who is the"you" and "they" you mean here?

No one is denied access to a thread because of their ideas. Threads are pulled when people begin name calling and the thread deteriorates due to it becoming personal.

I encourage debate on issues but it needs to be done respectfully. If you are too passionate about a subject to keep a cool head you might wanna think twice. If you have noticed I have rarely, if ever, posted my opinion in these threads. I am not capable of a rational, civilized, discussion about some issues and I am aware of that so I don't post. I know me too well.

Again I encourage you to PM me if you have any questions.

Lilith---I will PM you with the persons name.I don't want to

Politics aside, what would happen if someone got passionate about a sexual issue? For instance, a fantasy that involves rape. I'm sure rape victims would be very passionate in their opposition to such discussion, as it is a very personal and real matter to them.

Lilith, I understand what you're trying to do, but singling out politics to be the issue that is the focus of scrutiny is a rather precarious position at best.

Personally, after receiving a few PM's about introducing political issues here at Pixie's, I decided this was not the best venue for such discourse. There are lot's of alternate forums which specialize and welcome political discourse.

** Stepping off soap box **

I guess the bottom line to this ramble is, Pixie's is a sexual forum, CNN or MSNBC is a political venue. Choose your posts wisely.

Perv On!
