What do you do....
When the world keeps kickin you in the nuts and you just want to put your fist through a wall? I need some help in managing my anger at the moment and was wondering what everyone here did to keep their temper... b/c I am really on the verge of losing mine.

I curse like a sailor............ then chill out, collect my thoughts, devise a plan, and set it in motion. I have a horrid temper but I try to channel it into a positive reaction.
You could also tell someone what's bothering you.......... I'll be on later tonight if ya wanna talk! |

Altho SOMETIMES anger falls into the category of "better out than in"... I believe that collecting your thoughts FIRST is of utmost importance. Things that are said (or done) in anger are often regretted later. It is always best to take a step back.. remove your self from the situation as best you can... and think things thru. Take some time for yourself... I know that when I was younger and there was a beach nearby.. it was there that I went to think things thru and gain a clearer perspective. If that isn't possible.. go for a long walk in the cool air.. clear your head.. and you do have friends here who will gladly share a shoulder (me included). HUGS |

This is one subject that is near and dear to my heart... I can get really excitable at times -thus the name- What's been working for me lately is a relaxing drive (little or no traffic) with the local jazz station on the radio. When it was warmer I also used to ride my bike. Jennaflower had the best advice: remove yourself from the situation as best as you can. There's always the old stand by of counting to 10. At least you're wanting to control it. That's a start. Good luck! |
