We've heard and seen so much about the 9-11 events

it took me a year to see the obvious.

With the resources of AlQuaeda and the personal fortune

of the Saudi bin Laden, why were there only 4 planes?

The attack was devastating beyond expectation, but why such

a half-assed effort. 100 men in the air would have been 20

planes, a major effort.

Add to that the chaos and fall-out of US fighters shooting down

civilian aircraft (probably some not hijacked) and you have a mess.

Was bin Laden blinkered or did something set him off early?

Just my little theory.

Interesting thoughts, that's for sure. Hope that maybe they just couldn't either get enough volunteers (??) or maybe enrolling them in flight schools would be too obvious with a hundred or more applying. Maybe some day we'll know.

OF, I heard that it must have been a big effort preparing the attacks. (I do not know if it is true). Perhaps that could have been the reason. At least I think that it was not easy.

This is not to hard to answer. First off the smaller the group the less likely they are to be discovered. Also maximum effect with minmum effort. UBL using a minimal amount of people was able to destroy the center of capitalism for the world. So to me it was impressive because they managed to do so much with so little. Whoever hatched the plan was deffinatly a criminal genius.

Thinker, UBL was astounded his plan bore such fruit.

Lots of small cells acting independently ( but with the same goal) are harder to detect and more likely for at least one of them to succeed.

Was just thinking.........Americans always assumed we were "safe". I don't feel that way anymore! Most everyone I know doesn't. UBL may have done what seems to pass as a minimal effort...........but the masses have suffered. If not directly through personal loss of family or friend..........than loss of freedom as we knew it and the comfort and security that we all took for granted! I'd say that was a "MAXIMUM" effort!

Example: I live in an area where it is unusual for a passenger jet to pass over at less than 30,000 feet or more. If one is flying low for some reason on any particular day........I look up and watch in fear till it passes from sight. Everyone I know has said they do the same thing. And if the "Blue Angels" are flying above on manuevers...........I turn on a news source to make sure it is just an exercise! Never did this before Sept. 11th. I used to just watch the "Angels" pass over and think...."Must be an air show somewhere."
