Make you cry...
In the spirit of Nutworld's musical queries...
What song('s) can bring tears to your eyes? For me... Swan Dive, Ani DiFranco Alive, Pearl Jam |
"Round here" Counting Crows
....oh, wow. i know there's more. mental block...emotions...can't comprehend...shut down!!...shut down!! i tend to not remember things like this, but i'll think on it and get back to you with more. |
You Can Close Your Eyes~ James Taylor's version
Beautiful Boy~Lennon Sing both to my boys! Makes me feel all motherly and hormonal! Yuck!:p |
''Georgia'' By Ray Charles
''Cherokee Fiddle''.....dont know who sings it but it reminds me of my family in Oklahoma both songs remind me of the little family i have....and rarely see... |
Tears in heaven.... Eric Clapton
Because you love me... Celine Dion (makes me think of my dad) There are more, but I am getting choked up thinking about them! |
I think it's Cats in the Cradle by Jim Croce.I may be wrong on the title. It's the one where his kid does everything like him.
I'll grow up just like you Dad.----------Can't think of it.It's on the tip of my tongue. Irish |
You got the title right Irish, but it's Harry Chapin... great choice
Giving You the Best That I Got, Anita Baker |
For me it would be
"Grandpa" by the Judds......all about how the world has changed and not neccesarily for the better..sad for me because I never had a Grandpa... Can't and never have been able to listen to "Old Shep" by Elvis And also by Elvis "Don't Cry Daddy" about a child asking Daddy not to be sad because Mommy has died.. And in the same vein...."Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro *sniff sniff* ~wiping my nose and blotting tears from my keyboard~ :( |
Heres a few
Tears In Heaven ~ Eric Clapton Dont Cry Daddy ~ Elvis Bonny Portmore ~ Loreena McKennitt |

LOL, ASH |
Wind beneath my wings. Brings a tear to my eye even typing it out. I sang this at my Grandmothers funeral. one of the saddest songs ever for me.......
And there is a contry song that someone did for 9-11 that makes me tear up too. |
I was going to say "tears in heaven" but Sharni beat me to it.
One that always gets to me is Addagio for Strings, by Samuel Barber. It's just such a beautifly, haunting melody. For those of you that saw the movie Platoon, you should know it if not by name. |
My baby you - Marc Anthony(makes me think of my ex)
Dont Want to Miss a Thing - Aerosmith |
i agree with darkmanx.....dont wanna miss a thing
the fall by the nixons...fits a break up perfectly oh and the theme from braveheart.....its so awesome...makes me cry |
I know this sounds so stupid, I was never in the army or anything, but I have friends who are/where...
I can't hear "Taps" played without crying... There are other songs too, but that one always makes me cry... Wanda |
There are many that make me cry because I am so into music and am easily sucked into the song but the one that hits me the hardest is Go Rest High On That Mountain by Vince Gill
|
i only cry when i have to listen to music i don't like....
|
Love Hurts.......and Butterfly Kisses.....
|
star spangled banner
open arms-journey |
Memory, from Cats
The Dance, Garth Brooks Bright Eyes from Watership Down (cant remember original artist) And the song that totally freaks me out and makes my skin creep, is Vienna by Ultravox, (skin creeping just thinking about it! yak!!) |

Butterfly kisses i danced with my daddy to at my wedding, it was our song, and i cry everytime i hear it. But its a happy cry as i love my daddy so much :D |
Major Tom - (was that David Bowie?)
|
"Angel" by Sarh MacLaughlin (played it at my brother's funeral -- still can't bring myself to listen to it!!)
"Return to Innocence" - Enigma "Streets of Philadelphia" and "Secret Garden" -- Bruce Springsteen and almost every sappy love song ever made!!! |
I cant remember the name of it but it was about a crippled boy on the CB who asked for a ride in an 18 wheeler and there were heaps of trucks lined up. A classic tear jerker but it got me cos I am such a softy where kids are concerned. I can't bear to watch a movie where a kid is killed or dies, I get really upset.
|
Wanda dont worry i have seen Taps make grown men cry. Another one for me is A Song for Mama cause it always makes me think of my Grandmother. And last but not least i can listen to the first few words of a song my best friend wrote about us and tear up because it is so true. Wish i could but she wont let me post a copy here. But its the best song in the whole world
|
Heres some of the songs that hit me that have been said already..
Tears in heaven--Eric Clapton Because you love me--Celine Dion Wind beneath my wings (school memorial for a good friend, wrote a 4 page poem for his family) Go Rest High On That Mountain by Vince Gill (song played at great grandmothers funeral) One that hasnt been posted... Dont take the girl--Tim McGraw Taps--when I was in basic training and this was played at night when we were supposed to be in the bed, I got out of bed and stood at attention out of respect of those who lost their lives. On many occasions Ive shead a tear over this song because of what it stands for. I get chills just thinking about it. |
Come What May~ Moulin Rouge soundtrack

that is Teddy Bear by Red Sovine awesome song. he does a lot of tear jerkers |
Sing me back home by Merle Haggard. This is one of my Dad's favorites and he's getting on up in age.Every time I hear it I think of how lucky I am to have had my dad as long as I have. There are so many clueless people in this world that they forget about family. Without my family I'm nothing.

Oh. My. God. This is my favourite song in the universe. I often play it on the piano on a rainy Sunday afternoon: Well the sun is surely sinking down But the moon is slowly rising So this old world must still be spinning 'round And I still love you Sung by James . . . it's so mournfully beautiful! |
Kathy's song (the Eva Cassidy version) and I Will Follow You Into the Dark by Death Cab for Cutie
|
|
PF, you've hankered after gigi's bumps for a while now.
The best tingles and tears song is still http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25ace0NBwkk |

|
Mayonaise and Drown by The Smashing Pumpkins. Those two songs are associated with a special someone once loved in my life.
