Circumcised or Not?

Hello,
Are you circumcised or not? I wasn't circumcised because I was born in the UK and that's not the norm there, but here in the mid west I felt very self-conscious as a teen. I still do not know of a single other un-cut male around here. Please post if you are or are not and the general area that you live. Thankyou!

Bilbo 01-16-2002 02:32 PM

I'm in the NOT group in OZ!

Irish 01-16-2002 03:00 PM

I have responded to a thread pertaining to this before. When I was born;I could not be circumcised because of a clotting problem.
When I had an erection;you almost couldn't tell that I was not
circumcised.I got circumcised in my 40s'because of a slight rash&
stinging that I had developed.I told my Dr. the problem&that there wasn't a cleaner person in the world. He said; that wasn't the cause and had a medical name for it.He knew what it was
before I even showed him. It's that common a thing.I am now
circumcised.I have had intercourse,masturbated,had oral sex,etc.
both ways and I see no difference in the sensation. If there was
any difference in the feel;to a woman;I think that my wife would
tell me.We have been married 36yrs. and are fairly open in our
conversations. If I had to do it again.I would pick circumcision. It's
a bitch;going without;while healing.Plus you're scared everytime
that you get an erection.(unavoidable)You don't even dare to
masturbate! Irish

Boru 01-16-2002 08:02 PM

cut here

Having Catholic parents made it certain that I would lose my foreskin. It went shortly after my birth. I have no experience with uncut people but I've seen pics of both and I prefer the cleaner appearance of a cut member. Also, all of the partners I've had (about 15) have preferred no foreskin.
My current location is Eastern Canada though that has little meaning since I grew up all over the country, parents moved a lot.

Two small boys, one circumsized, one not, are comparing things in the restroom, the uncut one says, "Hey, what happened to your foreskin?"
"Oh, my folks had it cut off when I was a baby,"
"Wow, did it hurt?"
"Are you kiddin? I couldn't walk for a year!"

(sound off crickets chirping...)

Ok, I know it was lame... & for the record, I was cut at birth, during the Eisenhower era, in the mid-south U.S.... on a military base, no less...

scorpi42 01-18-2002 06:52 PM

im uncut but then i was born in the uk aswell

MilkToast 01-18-2002 08:51 PM

the snake has a turtleneck around these parts... :) Not born in the U.S.... but it would not have made a difference with my folks....

Just wish I could say the same about my Muscle definition...;)
Circumsized at birth... Washington State. No complaints.

Nubian 02-06-2002 06:10 PM

i'm in the uncut group but i wonder does being cut
make the head less sensitive.

Irish 02-12-2002 10:02 AM

blk cat---Read the thread that I wrote earlier. It awnsers your
question on sensitivity. Irish

Fang 02-12-2002 10:06 AM

Sliced and diced

I fall into the cut category. Just routine practice in 1972. I thought long and hard (no pun intended) about having the procedure done to my son. I finally decided to have it done, for the sanitary/health reasons and so that when he starts to notice, he and Dad will have matching wangs and later most of the boys he'll become friends with. Don't want him to feel weird.

As far as sensation, not having ever had foreskin, I don't know. I can say that I've never had any problems feeling anything in the head of my cock. All seems to work at peak efficiency there. With all the complications having a foreskin can add, I'm just as glad I don't have one.

I heard that after I was circumsized as an infant, the skin was donated to a burn victim. He'd suffered severe blistering on his face and had lost most of the skin near his forehead and eyes.
They replaced his eyelids with the foreskin. He recovered perfectly.

Only thing is, he would up a little "cock-eyed."

Wah-wah-waaaah...

Irish 02-12-2002 10:36 AM

Fang---When I had the operation;my medical insurance covered the whole thing because the Dr. said that it was necessary!Good
choice on your son.Other kids notice those things in gym class
and he won't go through the ridicule because he is"different!"
As I said in my thread;previously;if I had to do it over;barring
medical impossibility;I would have it done.Nobody was cleaner
then I was;and I rubbed it extra good!(to make sure it was clean?)
Even while circumcised;I try to make sure that I rub it real good!
Irish

Do you ejeculate when the recipient of your foreskin

BLINKS

Fang 02-12-2002 01:30 PM

Blinks...

No, but if he rubs his eyes a lot I get an erection!

Irish 02-12-2002 02:32 PM

Fang---When I was circumised;I told the anesthesioligist(sp)that my Dr. didn't charge much but he got to keep the tips.
He told me to save the foreskin and have a wallet made from the
skin.He said that if I went on a trip that I could just take my wallet
out and rub it and I would have a suitcase. Irish
P.S.Those guys hear them all. They always have a reply.

Fang 02-12-2002 03:21 PM

Love those jokes

Ah man those are great jokes. Classics. I can just picture Rodney Dangerfield telling those on stage...

Good ones Irish!

Irish 02-12-2002 04:51 PM

Fang---Rodney was always one of my favorites.I watched every-
thing that he was in.(including the HBO specials.)My wife can't
stand him. There's just something about him that cracks me up.
Maybe it's his irreverant sense of humor. Irish
P.S.Like fine wine;he is an acquired sense of taste!

Grumble 02-13-2002 06:29 AM

not unless it is medically indicated

why put a child through this if it is not needed? I was circumcised soon after birth because it was the norm, and 'looked clean'

Why were we born with a foreskin if it is does not have some function. It apparently does, keeping the glans protected and moist. cleanliness is assured if you pull it back and wash under the foreskin.

I am against surgical procedures that have no medical necesity.

They were the bad old days. My wife wanted my son circumcised and I threatened to take her to court to prevent it.

A forskin is natural and has a function. let it be.

Irish 02-13-2002 08:37 AM

grubbleguts---I suggest that you read my earlier thread!I never
had a problem with not being circumcised. In my 40s;i developed a rash that is so common that the Dr. had a name for it before he
ever looked.I couldn't be circumcised at birth because of a clotting
problem with my blood. It wasn't necessary in the service and until
I got that rash;I would not have had it done.By the way;I am not
Jewish.I was brought up Catholic;so I didn't have it done for religous reasons.I was married at 21 and am now 57(58 the 27th)
and am still married to the same woman.Believe what you want;
but if I could do it;with what I know now;I would avoid the incon-
venience and get it done. Irish
P.S.Speaking from experience.I'd like to see other people learn from my mistakes!

Grumble 02-19-2002 10:13 PM

thats Ok for you Irish

I am just putting my view which I consider as legitimate as yours.

The Australian Medical Association advocates strongly against circumcision as does the Australian College of Paediatricians.
That is pretty solid professional opinion for you.

In cases where circumcision is medically indicated then it is fine, as indeed yours was.

I had no choice in the matter, it was done without my consent and if I had the choice, I would have said no.

Gimme back my foreskin LOL

fangorn 02-20-2002 01:33 PM

Yes

grumbleguts I have to agree with you. I was cut at birth and given the chance I'd love to grow it back. I've always heard it does "enhance" things. So my wife and both decided to not have our son Circumcised. It just takes a wee bit of cleaning to prevent anything happening.

Irish, you're the first I've heard that said it doesn't. To be honest that's good to hear. Maybe I'm not missing out on anything anyway.

Personally, outside of religious use I see no need for it (except in medical problems). The reason it became popular in the States 20 years ago was that people thought it would prevent Masterbation. This is the same logic many primitive tribes use in justifying things like female Circumcision which can make Child Birth Very dangerous.

I'm willing to bet that evey man here can attest to the fact that it doesn't prevent masterbation. ;)

Irish 02-20-2002 01:38 PM

fanghorn---I have enjoyed masturbation both ways! It's enjoyable
both ways. Irish

legend 02-21-2002 08:59 AM

i've heard that some semblance of a foreskin can be gained by stretching the skin over the end. this is done over a period of time.

Wicked Wanda 02-21-2002 10:59 AM

Another point of view

I know this is a men's forum, but...
Just to put in an opinion...
First, I have never read so many terrible jokes over such a small thing...
*blush* (crickets chirping?)
Second, I have found some diffences in my partners, a little difference in the taste and feel, between circumsized and not, especially when performing oral sex. The difference in taste may be due to the fact that some of you are not as diligent in keeping clean underneath as others? Just a thought, but part of my decision making over what I am going to do with a new partner is based on cleanliness.
With intercourse, I can't feel any difference.
I admit that I like the feel, in my hand, of a circumsized man, and I can't really explain why.
I just remembered my ex was circumsized..

( Wanda Kitty runs away)

Wickedly,

WW

Nubian 02-21-2002 07:25 PM

Interesting..I can understand the difference in feel, but taste? Could be a cleanliness issue as you've indicated but could also be the normal variation that exists in all of us? I absolutely love the various tastes that I've experienced with different sexual partners. Thankfully, in my admittedly limited experience, I've never encountered a cleanliness isssue.

Irish 02-21-2002 07:49 PM

Nubian---My wife has experienced me both ways and she says
that she notices no difference. But then;why would she?It is with
the same person;who uses the same cleanliness habits that were
always used. Irish

Nubian 02-21-2002 07:57 PM

Irish, If it's not too personal, what are the differences in feel (if any) that she notices. Does she have a preference along this line? My wife have been with both. She loves the fact that she can play with my foreskin (pulling it back and forth), and loves to play a game of hide & seek with my glans.

Irish 02-21-2002 08:12 PM

Nubian---My wife says that she notices no difference.I can only
guess if she is telling me the truth.She used to masturbate me;
quite often;when we were dating but told me that I was the first
one that she had ever studied.I wasn't circumcised then.I have
masturbated, had vaginal sex, etc. and notice no difference in the
sensation myself and I would be the first to tell you if I did.The
things that you hear about sensitivity are a fallicy! Irish

Lovediva 02-21-2002 08:16 PM

:D I think they both look the same when they are hard :D

And that's all that matters...that they get hard!!! :D ;)

Nubian 02-21-2002 08:41 PM

LMAO. You're too much diva.

:D

Nubian 02-21-2002 08:42 PM

I tend to agree with your there Irish.

I wasn't going to post to this debate but.....personally I would never be in a religion or place that tried to influence you into an unnecessary operation just because they thought it looked better. Just my 2.2 cents (inc. GST) worth.

chief 02-22-2002 04:23 PM

I live in the USA and am a healthcare professional. In today's medical profession there is ablsolutely no need to cirmcumcise a baby today. There was a purpose for it once when water and hygeine was a problem. Now it is not a necessary procedure. Ok so most guys have had it done. As our mother's used to tell us if your friend jumped off a cliff would you? I am lucky i wasn't cut and have had no ill health problems and enjoy my foreskin. My wife thinks it's kind of a novelty. We both enjoy it . Think about not letting your kid get cut. Just because people say you have to.

Irish 02-22-2002 04:49 PM

cheif---You say that you are a healthcare professional.Do you know the name for the rash that I had?The Dr. said that it is a
common thing and had a medical name for it.He might have been
just;bullshitting me.I am asking out of curiosity.I don't rememder
the name as it was a few yrs. ago.That must be why they call me;
Mister instead of Doctor. Irish

Understand that the religions & places that practice circumcision do so at birth - none of this trying to influence thing! Just a thought, it seems like Islamic culture, in particular, is very prolific... doesn't seem like a harmful thing to the reproductive process to me... & the Jewish culture has flourished for 1000's of years, in spite of repeated attempts to exterminate it... makes me wonder if maybe there's some advantages... I'm just a bass player, what do I know?

legend 02-24-2002 05:43 AM

scotz - what i meant to say was influence parents into having their babies circumcised.....obviously adults have choices.
as with any surgical procedure there are always risks, so why take any risk, however small?
