First significant snow of the season hit us last night. Just shoveled about 1/3 to 1/2 of our drive and it looks to me like we got at least 6 inches. They'd predicted 3-5" and I'm positive our yard has more than that. I'll post some pictures when it gets light enough that I can take them.

Soon as my fingers warm up, guess I'll go back out and get another hunk of the drive shoveled. If anyone's in the area and wants to come help ... it's good heavy snow suitable for snowman making. :D

It started here a couple of hours ago, very light so far but we are supposed to get about the same as you guys have.

I detest driving in it with all those idiots who are accidents waiting to happen!

Here's those pictures from this morning. The darker ones were taken around 5AM (it was still dark) and the others around 7AM. Actually, the last one was about 7AM but looks darker because I didn't use the flash. :shrug:

So beautiful. And so quiet. I was surprised how quiet snow makes the world.

OF's right about the early morning bit ... but, usually not outdoors shoveling. Wanted to get the driveway cleared enough for my wife to get out at around 7.

Ends up the whole drive (with the help of my son) was easily cleared by then. :)

We wound up with around 7-8" or so with the weekend storm and are expecting another round today. It will be ending during the evening commute. How considerate. lol

If you would just commute down to Florida I could get 7-8" too. ;)

Reminds me of that punchline "they make a big mess when they thaw out". :p

I'm afraid that probably half our snow has melted because it got up in the low to mid 30s the past couple of days and we had some rain (freezing at times). But, there are still patches and I expect those will hang around until Christmas since the temperatures are expected to really fall today and tomorrow. :(

The news here is showing ice-storm pics of trees with a 1/2" shell, ice-sheets falling from rooves and icy roads.

Lots of damage from the trees breaking and many are without electric. In my city it seems all the turmoil was on the outer edges....

It was 74 at 6:30 am here and it is raining.

Could we get picks of you playing naked in said rain?
