Will not be around much

Mrs King will be having a total hip replacement (right hip) on Nov. 23 and after that heals she will have her right knee replaced. So we will be running to the docs for awhile. I will try to keep everyone informed of how everything goes.

Scarecrow & Mrs. King

Healing vibes and a bazillion well wishes from everyone here at the Lizz/Mayhem abode!

Lilith 11-14-2011 05:06 PM

Hug her gentle like for me. Take care of her.

gekkogecko 11-14-2011 08:29 PM

Ouch! (sympathetic head bobs)

dicksbro 11-15-2011 06:59 AM

Scarecrow and Mrs. King ...

You know our thoughts and prayers are with you both and we'll look forward to the time when surgeries are over and Mrs. King is doing cartwheels in the back yard. ;)

If we can do anything, you've got our number.

sodaklostsoul 11-15-2011 07:09 PM

Aww, wish we could come visit, hugs to Mrs. King! and you to SC!

Scarecrow 11-23-2011 09:45 PM

Mrs. King came through the surgery for the hip replacement with flying colors. She was in surgery for 2hrs and then in recovery for 2hrs before being moved to her room. She should get to come home on Saturday. It's been a long day, had to be at the hospital at 6am CST. I will keep everyone up to date as much as I can. Thank you all for the prayers and good wishes.

dicksbro 11-24-2011 08:39 AM

What terrific news! Tell Mrs. King, she'll stay in our prayers until fully recovered ... and again through the planned knee surgery. What great news and what a special thing to be thankful for today!!

gekkogecko 11-24-2011 10:28 AM

Yay for Mrs King!

Mrs. King was released from the hospital today. Her blood pressure had been low so they keep her a couple of extra days in the hospital. She feels fine, just a little sore. She can not put any pressure on that hip yet. She wants to thank everyone for the well wishes.

Glad to hear she's on the mend!

Keep us updated on further progress. :)

Oldfart 12-03-2011 12:05 AM

Talk about missing threads.

We're glad that Mrs K has come through so well.

A friend of ours went through this a couple of years ago, and said that recovery after

the hip was easy, but after the knee replacement learning to walk again was harder.

dicksbro 12-09-2011 04:52 AM

Great news, Scarecrow. Give Mrs. King our best wishes and a light hug.

We'll keep up the prayers for the knees next.

Maybe this spring we can find a day to get together and do lunch! We'll be looking forward to that day.

Scarecrow 12-10-2011 08:18 PM

Had a slight set back, she broke the bone that the hip ball was put in and they had to go in(another surgery) and glue the bones back together. She should be home tomorrow.

gekkogecko 12-11-2011 11:00 AM

Ug. At least it's something fixable.

Scarecrow 12-11-2011 10:20 PM

Did not get to come home today

Lilith 12-12-2011 07:16 AM

Sending love and wishes for good healing!

Scarecrow 12-12-2011 10:53 PM

After 7 days she got to come home today. Now the healing process starts.

jseal 12-13-2011 05:34 AM

Scarecrow 12-14-2011 09:12 PM

sodaklostsoul 12-15-2011 06:37 PM

UGH. I miss too much staying with my sis.

Sorry to read all this SC, hope Mrs. SC heals soon!

Rhiannon 12-15-2011 10:31 PM

Scarecrow 12-22-2011 09:04 PM

Mrs King got her staples out today and things are looking better. The Doctor said she could put a little more pressure on the right leg now. Just so she does not break it again :wish:

thank you everyone for you good wishs and prayers. DB tell the Mrs that she got the brown envelope in the mail.

gekkogecko 12-23-2011 09:18 AM

Glad to hear there's progress.

dicksbro 12-25-2011 04:54 AM

Glad that things are slowly improving ... but, we'll keep the prayers up until we see her doing cartwheels in the yard. :) (I'll pass on the word to Mrs. DB!)

Merry Christmas to two pretty great people!

Teddy Bear 05-16-2012 10:01 PM

Hows she doing now?

Keeping her in my thoughts and prayers.

*hugssss*

dicksbro 05-19-2012 01:54 AM

Good follow-up, TB!

Oldfart 05-19-2012 08:58 PM

Good follow up with no response yet.

SC, is Mrs King well enough to paint yet?

No PF, I'm not suggesting a coat of Barn Red to cheer her up.

Scarecrow 05-19-2012 09:24 PM

Mrs. King has recovered for the hip replacement and had her right knee replaced on Apr 4th. She is slowly recovering for the knee replacement. She physical therapy three times a week and is still using a walker. It just takes time. Thank you everyone for your interest.

I was thinking more of some deck paint for my porch. It was a mild winter but it's been a couple years.

;)
Truly glad to hear she is doing so well. Give her some incentive and mention if she keeps progressing she'll be able to travel to Cleveland in a couple months and be with Pixies. What more motivation could anybody have? :D

Oldfart 05-20-2012 05:44 AM

Zackly.
