The H1N1 vaccine
Are you getting it?
I will when I get the opportunity.
No
It was offered free of charge to every school student in my entire district.
So did you get one?
It's free for all Nova Scotians, and there is a clinic just around the corner next week, so I'm going to get it.
I will go when it is available to teachers. I am in a high risk group.
High risk group here too, which means I can't do the weakened live virus nasal spray; half frustrated at the way they keep rolling back the availability, & half taking heart that it seems to only really hit hard "otherwise healthy people"...since that's not me, I figure I'm in the clear ;)
Got my regular seasonal flu shot earlier this month, BTW. Had some very mild side effects, no biggie... |
If it is available we will get it. My kid is a senior in high school and we both work in high traffic food businesses. Plus, my sweetie Joe has already made us get the regular flu shot, so I'm sure he will make us get the H1N1.
The Aussie version is out, free and available.
I'll get it on my next Doctor's visit. |
I have no intentions of getting it.
i had the aussie one last week
In the States it is only for people under 25yr of age right now.
yes but not available from my doctor yet. my daughtrs school is getting the nasal mist this week
I'd like to get it but I was told that I'd be at the bottom of the list when it is available.
Nope and have no real intrest in it either.
My G.P. (Doctor) reckons my immune system probably isn't conducive to successful administration of a live-virus vaccine.
In other words, leave it for now. Suits me. |
No
No intentions of getting either the regular seasonal Flu vaccine nor the H1N1 vaccine.

Same here, although when they finally get around to offering it to the group I'm in ("high-risk", but not a child, not a pregnant woman, and not someone who works with children), I will get one. |
Well I was going to go get the vaccine yesterday, but I didn't plan for the long lines and got there after the clinic had accepted all the people for that day. I returned today; I got in line at 11:15 and got out of there 4 hours later.
They're not doing the vaccine in the schools here, which I find odd... The elementary school at the end of the street here already has three cases, and the junior high one (these are things I heard while I was in line, perhaps just gossip). Apparently in the next province over (NB), there are shortages of the vaccine and they refused today to give it to anyone but pregnant women and small children. |
Well, I got the vaccine in time. They've changed it in NS as well that only high-risk people can get it for now.
Is the vaccine in Canada the same vaccine as the USA?
Is it injected or that weakened virus nasal spray? |
I'll be getting it, i am in a high risk job.
Tis free, so why not *L* |
I'm not sure what it is in the States, but here it's injected.
It is available in 3 ways.
Really?? Awesome, my youngest is absolutely blindly terrified of needles, that will give him an option of having it also.....i'll need to look into that at my docs.
I don't think we get an option here in the benighted colonies. It's the needle or nuffin.
Well i can only ask OF, they may be able to access it for him to be able to have it
You can only ask.
