Accents

Now there is just something damn hot about some peoples accents eh!!

I've been watching Alexander Skarsgard in other works but True Blood, and most aren't in English, no idea what the hell he's saying in a few, but fuck me, is he damn sexy!! And of course being a Swede very comfy in hot'n'heavy scenes, phew! He could quite literally have me in a lather before we got to the touching part *LOL*

There are a few others that have the above effect upon this Aussie *L*

Who does it for you????

Lilith 07-12-2009 09:47 AM

Italian

FallenAngel5 07-12-2009 10:03 AM

Lost 07-13-2009 03:49 AM

my answer would be YES, lol

I found most females with an accent sexy,
but it does sometimes depend on the person.

lizzardbits 07-13-2009 10:31 AM

I love Mayhem's well ennounciated Brit accent. (Considering that he grew up from a few miles from where Ozzy was from, he could've had a non-mumbling accent like Ozzy, but rather a posh sounding accent.) I get a kick out of trying to identify the different accents of the UK. But anyway, whose do I find the sexiest? I gush over his own very person specific Scottish accent-Sean Connery! mmmm he's sexy at any age :D

PantyFanatic 07-13-2009 11:02 AM

I like her ^^^ thinking. :)

A lot of people say I look like Sean Connery. :D

......... or was that Marty Feldmen? :rolleyes2

Hotdave4u 07-14-2009 05:34 AM

East Anglian accent any good lol

citrus 07-14-2009 11:38 AM

In the USA, there are at least six distinct voice affectations available in our pronunciating of the speech we hear. ALL are certainly subject to being called "accents" to those not native to the particular mannerisms. 1. New England (or the NE US) a few syllabic inflections for changes from town to town and states; 2. Boston; 3. Southern with its variations from state to state; 4. Appalachian Mountain range folke and localities have many discernible intonations (& some nearly undefinable colloquialisms); 5. Central South which includes Texas and surrounding states; 6. West of the Rockies where we all speak clearly enough for all to understand.
My great Aunt used to say about some of her friends from Texas, "Let's get 'em livin' here 'n' we'll have 'em talkin' right in no time."
If anyone recalls "Festus Haggen" from "Gunsmoke" on tv in the 60's, in him I've reckoned that, "That there's a fine example of clearly sayin' what is to be said."

Lord Snow 07-14-2009 04:03 PM

I've had several people try and place my accent. I'm originally from Connecticut, have family from Indiana, and have lived in the south for over 10 years. Oh, don't forget that depending on time of day I am more nasal because of major allergies. I've mistaken for midwest, New Jersey (sorry New Joisey), southern all my life (even though I know how to read lol.).........No I will not post a voice sample.

Oldfart 07-16-2009 03:32 AM

I say again, Aussies are the only ones without an accent.

Lord Snow 07-16-2009 09:00 PM

Oh shush, you people talk funny too.

Oldfart 07-17-2009 04:14 AM

No, you just hear funny.

CuteCoupleOz 08-01-2009 09:43 AM

I do love the Aussie accent (despite Oldfart's proclamations) and the first time Catch and I spoke on the phone, i melted. His voice still does that to me on the phone. He could read the phone book to me and I'd follow him anywhere.

(shhhhh.....don't tell, but i'll always love a real cultured southern accent.....and Scottish, too)

Lord Snow 08-01-2009 02:36 PM

Are you talking northern Scottish or southern Scottish. Sean Connery is southern Scot right near the border and he sounds an awful lot like Patrick Stewart who is English. Farther north you go, thicker it gets.

scotzoidman 08-01-2009 11:18 PM

Whut is this ax-sent you speak of?

Fangtasia 08-01-2009 11:23 PM

Not a clue, don't have one :D

Sounds like a hell of a plan.

themi01 08-05-2009 08:18 PM

Citrus,
I beg to differ there are at least 3 different accents in NJ alone (the pure north jersey accent ) the Staten Island /NY transplants (which could be 3 sub categories in themselves ) the south central Jersey (sounds like Philly ) The Philly and the pure South Jersey..... Also phrases like "That's a Dandy of a game !!!"

To me, the accents aren't so much sexy, but if the person herself is sexy, AND has an exotic (to my ears) accent, that just multiplies the hottie factor. Best example I can think of is the lady doctor that used to be on "ER", can't remember her name, but...she was nice to look at anyway, but that Brit accent of hers just kept me drooling thru every scene she was in...

Of course, Fran Dreisher is proof that the wrong accent can undo all other sexiness of an individual...
