IowaMan Update
 

Hi everybody...I wanted to pop in and let you know that IowaMan is in the hospital. He went in on Monday morning due to some G/I issues and a possible pulmonary embolism.

He's getting good care and is feeling better - there was a significant improvement in his morale between Monday and Tuesday and he sounded much better. I don't know when they'll release him, though...his blood sugar has been really high and they're watching it closely.

I just wanted to let everyone know...please wish him well and send your prayers!

He hopes he'll be released today...I am less than sanguine. I'll let you know what I hear.

Being sick sucks. Having to go for the hospital because of it sucks even more.

But you know, the idea of releasing IowaMan upon us is downright scary!

It doesn't merely "seem" taht way, it *is* that way.

It's a long & winding road, & no surprise that one ends up with your wheels in the ditch occasionally...glad to see you back between the white lines again.

Just talked to IM on the phone. He sounds real good. Taking it easy and all set for the Superbowl. Very encouraging. He's one of the good ones, that's for sure!

I've noticed the Superbowl garners some powerful emotions with you guys over the pond - didn't realise it had medicinal proprties too!!

It's been sort of a slow recovery, most of the time in bed, but I'm getting back to "normal"............ well, as close as I get to it anyway. :p

But not int he fun way, I take it.
