What movie...

that everyone else seems to love, do you absolutely despise?

I've never been a fan of Star Trek.

Booger 04-30-2007 01:36 PM

not sure if despise is qite the right word but I could never quite figure out what the big deal was with Star Wars.

IowaMan 04-30-2007 01:46 PM

Never even seen any of the Star Wars movies but I'm not a big sci-fi fan so I really have never understood the fascination.

I'll have to give some thoughts to movies that I despise though.

Pita 04-30-2007 01:50 PM

Stars Wars, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings.

Although I do think Orlando Bloom is a major hottie. :brows:

IowaMan 04-30-2007 01:57 PM

Well, I did try to watch Lord of the Rings and wasn't able to make it through the first half hour.

Aqua 04-30-2007 02:13 PM

I'm just going to leave this thread before someone gets hurt... :starwars:

osuche 04-30-2007 02:45 PM

Hmmm....
"Titanic"
"Clockwork Orange"
Any of the Harry Potter movies

WildIrish 04-30-2007 03:07 PM

While it's not one of my favorite movies, I do often find myself holding my arms out & screaming "I'm the king of the world!".

But enough of my sex life.

gekkogecko 04-30-2007 03:10 PM

"Breakfast Club". Why the fuck did anyone see any value to that movie?

I agree Gekkogecko

lizzardbits 04-30-2007 03:37 PM

"vodka. Lotsa vodka!"

Neige 04-30-2007 04:02 PM

While I can't say I despise them, I've also never seen any Star Wars movies.

musicman 04-30-2007 04:28 PM

titanic (never bothered)
LOTR - got through the first one barely - and didn't even care enough for 2 and 3
harry potter - no interest in books or the movies

GreenChef 04-30-2007 04:31 PM

Team America World police, didn't find it funny, just dumb

Lilith 04-30-2007 04:46 PM

Harry Potters

jseal 04-30-2007 04:54 PM

Rocky Horror Picture Show

IowaMan 04-30-2007 04:54 PM

You know what, jseal just hit it on the head for me. Rocky Horror Picture Show. I just don't get the big attraction.

FallenAngel5 04-30-2007 04:59 PM

There's a lot on here I agree with...
Star Wars
Harry Potter...

But my first response was going to be
Lost in Translation
The typical thing people say when I tell them is "well you just don't get it" I get it, I just didn't like it :)

Lilith 04-30-2007 05:00 PM

pffffffffffffffft. Probably can't do the time warp :D:D

IowaMan 04-30-2007 05:05 PM

No, not that. I just can never find the right panty/garter combo.

Lilith 04-30-2007 05:07 PM

Bet you can find it on eBAY :D

IowaMan 04-30-2007 05:12 PM

Oh god no!!! Some of these peeps actually know my address!!! :yikes:

And now, back to our thread. :D

smithy020 04-30-2007 05:59 PM

kill bill 1&2. just never got it!

Lilith 04-30-2007 06:05 PM

amen^^^

Saw 2 & 3. 1 was enough for me.

dicksbro 04-30-2007 06:11 PM

Found a site with the "worst rated 200 movies."

http://www.metacritic.com/film/lowscores.shtml

I was surprised when I saw "Pinocchio" on the list ... until I realized it was not the Disney animation but rather an Italian made production. Another was "The Avengers" which the Chicago Tribune described as "A smorgasbord of bad ideas, sumptuously over-realized." I saw it and tend to agree ... after the TV series, it was truly a movie with good graphics and not much else.

Aqua 04-30-2007 06:22 PM

But I doubt those were films that most people were crazy about in the first place, db.

When I finally saw Titanic I didn't think it was anything special. I didn't hate it, but I don't see why people went back to see it over and over.

smithy020 04-30-2007 06:35 PM

titanic was a shocking movie...there was nothing good about it, i havent even watched it and never want to!

WildIrish 05-01-2007 08:46 AM

I'm a sucker for those "I know I'm not supposed to love you, but I do" stories. But I have to admit...the SNL skit runs through my mind as they're loading the lifeboats.

"Don't worry, Pop. I'm sure it'll be our turn soon."

"All first class pianos can now be loaded into the lifeboats." :roflmao:

ReaperWoman 05-01-2007 10:56 AM

I hated Titanic. All the girls my age were those ones going back and back to see it. When I eventually saw it, the only thing I loved was the people all dropping off the horizontal boat. It appealed to my darker humour...

"Wheeeee! There goes another one! Wheeeeeee!"

Eastern 05-01-2007 11:00 AM

monty python..take your pic.
just don't get it. hubby loves it.totally eludes me

I have to agree but the only good thing I found about the movie was I got to see some nice breast.

LixyChick 05-02-2007 04:48 AM

I didn't despise it...but I saw it twice and I just didn't care for Pulp Fiction. I thought I'd better watch it twice in case I was missing something that everyone was raving about. Nope...I didn't miss a thing and it still kinda sucked to me.

Also...Eyes Wide Shut. It might have been that Tom Cruise was the star. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head but someone else should have played his role.

I never really despise a movie. I just don't follow the main stream. For example...I loved The Butterfly Effect but it didn't do well at the box office. No one seems to like Ashton Kutcher but I thought he did an excellent job in this particular movie.

I've always been just left of center!

Belial 05-02-2007 07:03 AM

The Matrix trilogy. I thought it was pretentious bullshit with a paper-thin plot.
LOTR. Like Randal said in Clerks 2: "Three movies about walking" :D

wyndhy 05-02-2007 08:08 AM

patton. *yawn*
