Florida or Michigan? Why?

I love both places.
I have visited Traverse City, Mackinac Island, (a VERY romantic place) and Frankenmuth many times and always have fun. Detroit is just anther large Northern City to me. Florida has Destin, all the wonderful beaches and the Keys and of coure I love Disney and all the other Central Florida fun places. Tampa has some very interesting clubs for adults. Do I have to choose? WW |

You know what, I really haven't decided what I think about it just yet. I was pretty sure that I was all for a rematch between Ohio St. and Michigan but if there's going to be some sort of wager between Lil and Osuche....... The two best teams have already played and OSU came out on top, so it does not matter what the match-up is.

Congrats to BOTH teams, as they are deserving.
Michigan had their shot and didn't take advantage. Despite the fact I'm a UM fan, I don't believe, and always have, that you shouldn't get a shot to win the national title, if you don't win your conference. NO way in HELL I'm gonna be forced to choose a winner, I can't choose between Lilith and Osuche- err......Florida and OSU, but who WOULDN'T want to have such a wonderful choice as those two??? Let's face it, you can't LOSE with EITHER!! |
Should be a good one. Sort of makes me sick though to think the Rose Bowl match-up is going to be between two teams who are looking at it as the Booby Prize. :(
What makes me more sick though is that I'm going to have to see my Hawkeyes take the Horns from Bevo and Texas. That's not going to be pretty. :eek: Take the whip to me if you must Lil, or feel free to put the spiked heels in my back but I'm thinking the opening line for this one will be Ohio State by 12. |

I'm not sure what I predict yet. I'm not overly confident but my guys have done so well that I am just not willing to count them out either.

I think Ohio State just has too much for the Gators. You never know how the teams will play after such a long layoff but Tressel has a great track record in big games. I'll say Ohio State 34 Florida 21 And am I going to have to watch the game naked all by myself and just imagine that Lilith and Osuche are rolling around in front of me? I'm okay with that if that's the case, I was just wondering. :D |
I think it's quite possible we will get our asses kicked however I am not willing to give up hope.

For me, the biggest key to the game is Chris Leak and the Florida offense. They need him to play like the player they thought they recruited four years ago. He has the ability to be every bit as good as Troy Smith but he's just so darned inconsistent. Tebow coming in to run the ball will play a big part in it too.
I don't look for the Ohio State offense to be slowed down too much. Florida has a very good defense but I just don't see them shutting the Buckeyes down too much. I really do look for it to be within a touchdown until about the 8:00 mark of the 4th Qtr though. I'm just afraid there will be an interception or fumble or something that does the Gators in. I can't wait for the game though. Still not really happy that they made us wait a whole damn week from New Year's for it though. :mad: |
I should declare my class closed on Tuesday. All my students will stay up for the game and both my behavior specialist and I are Gators. We will be dragging ass.

I've been wrong with most of my picks thus far, so Osuche, you might want to get a little nervous.
OSU 31 Florida 24 Leak and Tebow keep the gators in the game, but Troy Smith, who is the biggest "clutch" football player in the NCAA get's it done, as OSU runs the table for a 13-0 record and the #1 team from August till January. |
I think OSU will get it done, and by a good margin. I hope it will be a great game, though...worth waiting for.

Had two "projects" for today and got this one completed and the other almost done. I am pretty sure osuche will like the results of this one, maybe the other one too. :shrug:
I've got a computer program that simulates college football games (not a PS2 videogame or anything like that). It's purely statistically based with the teams rated on their actual performances including strength of schedule, etc. I created all of the bowl teams for the '06 season and I've played all the bowl games thus far (20 times each) and the program picked the correct winners in 24 of the 31 games. Even got Boise St. over Oklahoma. Anyway, here's what it says will happen tonight. I played the matchup 45 times. Ohio St. won 25 and Florida 20. When the Buckeyes won, they won by an avg. of 10 pts. in high scoring games. When Florida won, they were lower scoring games and the Gators never won by more than 4 points. Since Ohio St. won the majority of the games, I selected a boxscore that best represented their average win: Code:

Erm... I'm not sure what I think about the officiating. I haven't watched every minute but I saw one huge call I wasn't impressed by.
