Sci Fi Channel!

Finally we have it....and oh boy am i in my glory!

Stargate
Stargate Atlantis
Battlestar Galactica
Buffy
The Dead Zone
and quite a few i missed 'cause they had em on so damn late on free-to-air tv

As a sci fi enthusiest...this is just the bestest!!

dicksbro 12-02-2006 04:13 AM

One of our favorites, too, Sharni! :)

Oldfart 12-02-2006 04:52 AM

I had a choice between cable and broadband, and my second home won out.

Oldfart 12-02-2006 06:04 AM

Sharni,

Did you catch the "Countdown" show?

Coastie 12-02-2006 06:09 AM

Battlestar is good. Stargate (orginial) only a few episodes remaining this is the last season on Scifi though there are talks about another network taking over production. Atlantis is good too I like the cast.
What about Dr. Who? The SO and me both think the new Dr.Who is a little more out there than the old series, both were low production cost, but new one seems more B movie-esque. You can catch Heroes reruns too, I'm really liking that show.

Good to see other scifi buffs :D

Oldfart 12-02-2006 06:28 AM

Coastie

Dr Who was ground breaking when it came out.

The new Doctor, while it to a degree bastardises the Legend, makes good spectacle.

ps I remember the first series, I was a wide-eyed 10yr old.

Sharni 12-02-2006 07:03 AM

Add a new favorite to the list...Farscape....i really enjoyed it

Oldfart 12-02-2006 07:48 AM

Ben there, done that.

Lilith 12-02-2006 08:16 AM

Is Farscape the one with Rygel/Rigel?

TinTennessee 12-02-2006 09:25 AM

As a certified Sci-Fi lover here I am happy to know you will be enjoying it right along with me. :)

PantyFanatic 12-02-2006 12:25 PM

I hope you are getting the Enlightened Life Findings channel, Sharni. :D
ELF has Married With children 24/7. :roflmao:

When the Sci-Fi channel dropped 'Mystery Science Theater 2000', I got rid of my cable. :tear:

Actually I had cable for about 3 years and I watched it a lot. I watched it ………. and watched it, and watched it, and watched it…….. With TLC, the History channel, Comedy channel, Classic Movie channel, Discovery channel, etc. …… it was never hard to justify watching something on the stupid tube. I don't have the discipline, living alone, to have cable. There is always SOMETHING interesting on the damn thing and I wasn't doing much reading, ……… or house cleaning, or many of the other things I needed to be doing. About three times a year, I argue with myself that I should get it again.

gekkogecko 12-02-2006 12:36 PM

Ironically, I don't watch cable TV excessively: I tend to hand on to a few select programs. Battlestar Galactica on Sci-Fi: Wild Kingdom on Animal Planet: Ice Hockey Games. Yes, that had to be capitalized. Sometimes one or two of the broadcast network shows.

SciFi & Animal Planet rock!

wyndhy 12-02-2006 01:12 PM

woot! good for you! i know you loves you some sci-fi (and some sci-fi hunks :D). enjoy!

Original or the new series?

Lilith 12-03-2006 08:28 AM

I like that one too if it's the one all shot in night visions.

Wicked Wanda 12-03-2006 08:42 AM

Sci Fi

I am so glad to see other women who love science fiction as I do.
My Papa, though a teacher of literature, felt that it was very underated fiction, and that some of the most creative ideas and styles came from the genre. (i.e he read it too, and wasn't a snob)

But why is the SciFi Channel showing wrestling?

WW

PantyFanatic 12-03-2006 08:50 AM

Why is ANY channel showing wrestling?

IowaMan 12-03-2006 10:36 AM

Does the Sci-Fi Channel still show Kolchak:The Night Stalker?

I always loved that show when I was a little kid but I think it only ran for a couple of years.

I think they show Quantum Leap as well. Always got a kick out of that one too.

ironhide 12-04-2006 11:34 AM

I love sci fi as well always have espically the battlestar old and new that new series Erie and of course all the bad b movies on late at nigt. As to why they are showing wrestling, which sucks i know. Sci Fi is owned by the USA network that hosts that god awful monday night raw shit so they made a deal to air wrestling on one of their other networks Sci FI

But all in all I love the Sci fi channel just so long as the don't ever again do a knight rider athon i hate that show lol

Sharni 12-04-2006 01:26 PM

LMAO....Night Rider is one of my all time favorites!

I can remember sitting in Kitt when i was younger....*smirk* had the poor guy that was Kitt's voice madly checking info cause i kept asking him all these curly questions about the show *LMAO*

I enjoyed Knight2000 too...but it didnt last long unfortunately

IowaMan 01-30-2007 08:31 AM

Anybody else watch The Dresden Files? I've been trying to catch up on some of the reruns and I've caught the last couple of episodes on Sunday nights. Pretty good show.

Jude30 01-30-2007 07:36 PM

I wanted to catch it but I can't even seem to catch Battle Star Galactica, which I really enjoyed the first season.
