Hail to the Victors......

Anbody else excited that both Ohio State and Michigan made it through their seasons unbeaten and ranked #1 and #2 as they head into their game next Saturday?

Sorry about the way I titled this thread osuche, just wanted to see if I could get that black thong of yours in a bunch.

Lilith 11-12-2006 09:25 AM

My Gators although not undefeated are kicking ass. And may I also mention that the Seminoles are not :D

1nutworld 11-12-2006 10:58 AM

I don't understand why there might be a "problem" with the thread title.

BOTH team's have been victorious thus far in the season, why would that title be considered a problem?

All though, it DOES happen to be the opening stanza of the greatest college fight song. Coincidence? I think not.

Good luck to both teams this Saturday.

Predictions anyone?

I will reveal mine on Friday or Saturday morning!

You are very correct in the 2nd part of your post Lilith, the 'Noles are NOT playing goood football this season.

I'm not sure that the Gator's 1 point victory over the Gamecocks and the "old ball coach" would be considered "kicking ass", but other that that little hiccup, they HAVE played very good this season.

With the turmoil in the BCS standings and Texas, Auburn and Cal all losing yesterday, I'd have to think that Florida would be the logical choice for #3 in the rankings behind OSU and Michigan. Stunning Rutgers should easily move up to 7 or 8 in the polls today. I don't see USC surviving the Cal, Notre Dame, and rival UCLA games without adding a 2nd loss on the season.

The rest of the schedule should provide plenty of "discussion" for talk radio and TV's "experts".

Next Saturday is the second biggest party day of the year at my daughters house. It will be the last clambake of the season and an event will be worked on for 3 days and up to midnight, the day before. The 10 ft. high rental tent covers most of the driveway in front of the cleaned out garage where the 30 chairs and 6 ft. rental TV that has been reserved with deposit since last year is set up.

Only March 17th will have more than the 50+ people roaming around the place, but these are here for the day and not on a perpetual open house rotation. Upstairs becomes the domain for 10-20 little kids and the downstairs has clusters of people around the 5 various located TVs.

Yes IowaMan, there are other people excited about Ohio/Michigan next Saturday. ;)

osuche 11-12-2006 12:00 PM

GO BUCKS!!!!!

Ann Arbor was a whore!

Yep...I'm excited. Contemplating skipping class so I can watch the BIG GAME.

PS - Hoping for a FL/Ohio State matchup in the BCS National Championship ;)

Lilith 11-12-2006 12:03 PM

That would be something :D

Yes it does!! Too bad all us Pixies can't get together to see if we could put together a party that would rival that one.

The Seven Dwarfs are in a cave when the roof collapses. Snow White runs to the entrance and yells into the darkness, "Somebody, say something!"

A distant voice responds, "OSU will win the BCS Championship!"

Snow White sighs, "Oh, thank goodness! At least, Dopey is still alive!"

Q: Why wasn't Jesus born in michigan?
A: They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin.

IowaMan 11-12-2006 12:41 PM

osuche 11-12-2006 12:42 PM

A guy in a bar says to the guy next to him, "Want to hear a great Michigan joke?"

The guy next to him says, "Before you tell that joke, you should know something. I'm 6-foot-3 and weight 225 pounds, and I'm a Michigan grad. The guy sitting next to me is 6-2, 225, and he's a Michigan grad. The guy next to him is 6-6, weighs 275, and he's a Michigan graduate. Now, do you still want to tell that joke?"

The first guy replies, .....

"Not if I'm going have to explain it three times."

Three OSU students are riding in a car together. Who's driving?
The state trooper!

maddy 11-12-2006 12:54 PM

Even as a Big 10 baby, I never realized the rivalry was so large between Michigan and OSU.

1nutworld 11-12-2006 12:54 PM

AN OSU football player was almost killed in a horseback riding incident.

He fell out of the saddle, caught one foot in a stirrup -- and came close to being trampled to death. Just in the nick of time, the Meijer store greeter rushed over and unplugged the horse.

osuche 11-12-2006 12:57 PM

A great video that will give some insight into the game on Saturday:

Those in East Lansing, feel very slighted that in Ann Arbor, THE rivalry game is UM-OSU, and not MSU-Michigan.

That is the main reason the Spartans feel UofM is "elitist".

Did you know that 9 out 10 coeds are good looking?
The other one goes to Ohio State.

1nutworld 11-12-2006 01:38 PM

Neige 11-13-2006 01:09 PM

I love this thread too even though I'm definitely not a football fan! I kept thinking yesterday, "I'm so glad they started this thing a week before the game - it's only going to get better!!!"
