As a house-poor Californian, I am always seeking ways to save money, I bought the store-brand tea bags last time, because they were $4 cheaper and I figured tea was just tea, right???

Well, let's just say that there is absolutely no substitute for Lipton tea. I had to go back to the store and buy it. :hair: High price and all.


What have you recently discovered that has no substitute?

I can't substitute conditioner. I have to use Vive or Fructis. All the others I've tried because they were cheaper leave my hair greasy after a day or don't detangle worth a damn!

Good Luck Tess, giving up coffee or switching to decaf would not be an option for me if I am to remain a functioning member of society.

I agree with Tess...there's no substitute for coffee. But I had to make the switch to decaf. I don't like very many beverages, so it was especially hard for me.

I bought the store brand Pepsi-type cola today to save a buck - it tastes the same going down but it leaves a weird aftertaste!!! :(

About the only thing that comes to mind at the moment is Velveeta. I've tried making salsa dip with store brands and it was absolutely awful.
