No Substitute

No, Lil...this doesn't mean you can't call in sick from school. Let the Copy Bitch teach the kids. :rolleyes2

As a house-poor Californian, I am always seeking ways to save money, I bought the store-brand tea bags last time, because they were $4 cheaper and I figured tea was just tea, right???

Well, let's just say that there is absolutely no substitute for Lipton tea. I had to go back to the store and buy it. :hair: High price and all.

What have you recently discovered that has no substitute?

LixyChick 08-18-2006 04:19 AM

I can't substitute conditioner. I have to use Vive or Fructis. All the others I've tried because they were cheaper leave my hair greasy after a day or don't detangle worth a damn!

Lilith 08-18-2006 04:56 AM

No substitute for

sodaklostsoul 08-18-2006 08:33 AM

I agree with Lilith...the other brands don't measure up.

gekkogecko 08-18-2006 09:33 AM

Altoids. There just isn't any better brand of mints on the market.

Sharni 08-19-2006 05:00 PM

No substitute for TimTams! (or Orli...Mmmmm Orli & TimTams!!!!)

Mae 08-19-2006 05:05 PM

High-quality dog food.

Cheyanne 08-19-2006 07:41 PM

Zesta crackers
Plochman's Mustard
Heinz Catsup
Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup

I know what you mean osuche - the above list are some items I will not compromise on!

PantyFanatic 08-19-2006 08:41 PM

Some things you just can't afford to skimp on

Beretta
Browning
Colt
Ruger
Smith & Wesson

Pita 08-19-2006 10:32 PM

I'm trying to switch from regular coffee to decaf and I'm now thinking it would be better to just to give it up altogether.

loves2laugh 08-19-2006 10:55 PM

Good Luck Tess, giving up coffee or switching to decaf would not be an option for me if I am to remain a functioning member of society.

scotzoidman 08-19-2006 11:25 PM

Purity Milk & cottage Cheese...a local dairy brand, house brands just don't cut it at my house.

jseal 08-20-2006 02:53 PM

Suddenly I am glad I moved far, far away from PF. :p

:hippy: <-- Berkeley gal now.

PantyFanatic 08-21-2006 08:32 PM

Berkeley gals don't think they have the right to physically threaten or force their ideals on me, do they?

Aqua 08-22-2006 12:41 PM

Moutain Fucking Dew!

Mello Yello? Nope

It must be Mountain Dew.

osuche 08-22-2006 12:56 PM

A good doctor who can cure your ills

lizzardbits 08-28-2006 11:19 PM

There is no substitute for real life, physical, hot and sweaty, touch-taste-hearing-seeing-feeling Oh-my-gawd-you-have-made-me-explode SEX!

cyber and phone-sex just feels cheap, cheesy, and corny now. masturbation is more like scratching an itch rather than a sexual release.

I loves me all of my Mayhem!!!

WildIrish 08-29-2006 09:41 AM

I agree with Tess...there's no substitute for coffee. But I had to make the switch to decaf. I don't like very many beverages, so it was especially hard for me.

But it's worth it in the long run.

Hellman's mayonaise. I think it's laced with crack.

KY Warming Gel...need I say more?

Sanford Uni-ball grip pens

Sinatra

and, of course, Pixies. Awwwwwwwwwwww!

Lilith 08-29-2006 03:47 PM

Kahlua

Lilith 08-29-2006 03:47 PM

Baileys

osuche 08-29-2006 04:10 PM

A good boss

maddy 08-29-2006 05:58 PM

Lilith, I agree on Baileys... I ogle the big bottle sitting on my counter daily, alas not so good for the hips.

osuche, AMEN!!! I can't even begin to emphasize how irreplaceable a good boss is.

Puffs ultra

lizzardbits 08-29-2006 07:15 PM

Hidden Valley Ranch Salad dressing----I brought a big bottle of it with me to the UK, since ranch dressing is an American thing.

A&W root beer

General Motor products (Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Hummer, Saab, Pontiac, GMC, Saturn, Holden, Opel, and Vauxhall)

dicksbro 08-30-2006 03:37 AM

My wife.

Neige 04-23-2007 08:17 PM

*bump*

I bought the store brand Pepsi-type cola today to save a buck - it tastes the same going down but it leaves a weird aftertaste!!! :(

IowaMan 04-23-2007 08:22 PM

About the only thing that comes to mind at the moment is Velveeta. I've tried making salsa dip with store brands and it was absolutely awful.

depends on your idea of FORCE.

Personally, I'd probably volunteer if Osuche decided she needed to force me to do things if she used these! :cuffs:

cherrypie7788 04-23-2007 10:02 PM

Any kind of cola. Rice (the box kind).

Oldfart 04-23-2007 10:47 PM

I'm with osuche, red wine.

PF - Mossberg.

WildIrish 04-24-2007 07:47 AM

I'm still thinking about how bailey's affects maddy's hips. I assume it's the cause of the hand shaped red marks on each side? :hot:
