Missing Pixies?

So, a revival of an old thread got me to wondering:

Who used to hang around here, and doesn't anymore, but really should (alternative phrasing: whom do you miss as a Pixies' member?) ?

Lilith 02-13-2006 06:16 PM

Skipthisone...the rest are where they are and while they may be missed, there are new friends who come along to take their place everyday.

jbh3 02-13-2006 06:19 PM

Cheyanne does not visit as often as I would like.

Fangtasia 02-13-2006 06:25 PM

People come and go....and i've seen shitloads of em

Dunchad...but i know he wont be back

Some i miss a hell of a lot more than others....but life goes on

jseal 02-13-2006 07:43 PM

gekkogecko,

I miss many - too many.

Just to scratch the surface: BlueSwede, Catch22, Christine, GingerV, Grumble, Lovediva, Sfcretired

Steph 02-13-2006 07:50 PM

STO definitely leads the list . . . I'd like people to stop by & update us on life. It was just going through old threads that I saw how different Pixies is now & it made me nostalgic.

2-4-tea, Nubian, Christine, legend, Diva, SFC (I didn't know her but love her posts), Coach Knight . . . so many other that will come to mind later . . .

It's also interesting how some have stuck around for years while others come & go. Such is life, I suppose.

Oldfart 02-13-2006 09:33 PM

All of them.

imaginewithme 02-13-2006 10:26 PM

Unfortunately I didn't get to know many of the people most of you are listing. Since I've been active there have been some that come in and out for a bit tho. Haven't seen Studmuffin who was pretty active at one time....or Salacious.

Like a few have said already, skipthisone is the first to pop out in my mind tho. Didn't know him long but proud to say I did get to know him even for a bit.

BIBI 02-13-2006 10:42 PM

I miss German Steve and all the fun we had in the erotic poetry section writing our dirty little ditties.

osuche 02-13-2006 11:33 PM

STO....

and Ginger V, SuzyQ, skyler, kathy1, and denny (who doesn't spend nearly enough time here), Blue Swede, celtic angel, dadaist, and Irish. :(

dicksbro 02-14-2006 07:49 AM

Skip, Irish and txsweet come immediately to mind along with many mentioned above. Wow! Clinton, too. DM383 isn't around as often I wish. Used to enjoy seeing more of his posts.

imaginewithme 02-14-2006 03:24 PM

darogle....I miss him too!

maddy 02-14-2006 07:27 PM

I've not been around long enough to know many of those mentioned ... but I've dug through the old threads from time to time and think many of them seem interesting.

Scarecrow 02-14-2006 07:46 PM

Also not seen in a while is nikanik, Diver Down and not around too much anymore is the lovely Leigh. :(

Neige 02-14-2006 08:01 PM

Legend, Nikki, Hellsbells...

bare4you 02-14-2006 10:03 PM

I kinda miss LAW

Neige 02-14-2006 11:28 PM

He never posted but was often in chat... Peter Parker - a soul mate.

There have been alot who stay awhile and disappear never to be seen again. I like it when old friends drop by and say hi and let us know what they're up to.

jseal 02-17-2006 06:36 AM

Gentlefolk,

I wonder why?

There's a social sciences research project!

What're your thoughts on it?

WildIrish,

I wouldn’t even know how to go about getting useful information. It is interesting to review who has remained and who has not. I also find interesting those who remain active, but no longer post.

Perhaps the NIH could provide a grant to study these issues. I’ve seen some of the grant requests which are approved, and I’m sure all it needs is to be dressed up in appropriate terminology…

sodaklostsoul 02-18-2006 11:40 AM

I'm LMAO at the mental pic of WI and Scotz!!!!!

WildIrish 02-18-2006 11:50 AM

I think most of us go through cycles in our lives where we have things that keep us away from Pixies or moods that we suffer that make us just not want to interact. Personally, I've had a few work related projects that kept me busy during the days. And I've had times where I was stressed out over work and home stuff, and it's fouled my mood to where I just didn't feel like posting much. Perhaps I didn't want to sour the board...or maybe I just needed to fester a bit. Don't know. But that's what happens with me.

Doesn't sound like a very interesting finding, huh? ha ha

When I see someone leave or come back, I just think that the real world interupted their time here. I know that personality conflicts can occur, but true friends recognize them and work around them. And Pixies are friends, right?

Booger 02-18-2006 01:58 PM

Do you think it would help if we started putting pictures of the missing Pixes on the side of condom packages?

gekkogecko 02-18-2006 02:07 PM

Great idea, Booger, only we'll of course, have to go with the most bizarre pics that they've dared to post.

Yep yep yep, that's it for me, real life stuff often gets in the way of posting....I come and go and come and go, this last time taking a year or more off mostly due to health issues. I'm always so grateful to be accepted back into the fold after having been *gone* for so long.

Thank goodness your not missing babe!!

sad_sam 02-19-2006 12:58 AM

I am still around, and look in on the boards every chance I get but unless I really have something to say I don't post.

Lilith 02-19-2006 08:44 AM

Glad you had something to say today!!!

Wow, looks like I've met my polar opposite! :p
Color me a blabbermouth! :D

Nice to see you post sad_sam. :)

jseal 02-20-2006 07:42 PM

WildIrish,

Just as we are interrupted from time to time, people who no longer post here have probably left for prosaic reasons. But the difference is that we ARE still here and they are not. I find that interesting, intriguing even.

Again I ask.

What are your thoughts? You seem to be going somewhere.

jseal 02-21-2006 10:55 AM

WildIrish,

I plan on staying here. I find it interesting that others don't.

WildIrish 02-21-2006 02:51 PM

Please don't assume I was suggesting you don't. It just sounded like you had an idea as to why some leave and not return.
