A particular song
 

Does a particular song, give you memories, or remind you of someone?

For me U2's "One" reminds me of my Cousin Stacey- whom I miss terribly, and I hope is still proud of me. Its not the entire song, but I know she was a fan, and she struggled with things as I did at the time.

What songs remind you?

Oh there are just toooo many for me to mention. I seem to put a song to everything and then later on when I hear the song I remember what it meant to me at that time.

Like when my grandfather was sick with cancer, the song "I Believe" by Diamond Rio came out.....now I think of him when I hear it.

I have a ton of them too, IWM.

I'll prolly be dropping back in this thread lots.

I just heard "one" after not listening to it in a very long time and it just got me thinking.

Kashmir reminds me of Aqua

U2's All I Want Is You reminds me of my brother because he sang this to his wife at their wedding

And We Danced by the Hooters reminds me of a boy in high school

YMCA reminds me of IAK

If I had to pick one song... "Can't You see" one of Marshall Tucker's hits reminds me of several crying in my beer nights and my luck with women in general. LOL

"Count on Me" by Whitney Houston reminds me of my sister

"A Whiter Shade of Pale" was playing on the radio in my bedroom when my sister screamed after finding our father dead in his bed.Everytime I hear it December 28th, 1979 seems like yesterday.

The song, I Just Called to Say I Love You, by Stevie Wonder always conjurs up a smile from me.

When it came out I worked at a flower store and it seemed everytime the phone rang it was a kid singing "I just called to say I love you"

My mom tells me that she thinks of me when she hears it on the radio, cause I played it on the piano alot more than I remember doing.

I have more of an issue with the reverse happening...like everything from book titles to street signs reminds me of a song...

Anything by Rush reminds me of an ex-flame. Pink Floyd's Division Bell reminds me of my best friend, Chris. Several Eric Clapton songs remind me of a friend I have in Atlanta. Oh....and Mr. Osuche LOVES "Fat Bottom Girls" by Queen, and several songs by Simon and Garfunkel.

Nilson's The Point record reminds me of my dad.

He didn't drive an old Camaro did he???? :D

Nope...he drove a VW Rabbit (which I thought was WAY cool), fire walked, and fenced with live blades. Now he's a Lutheran minister. :D

So many tunes for so many people...friends and relatives. Hard to narrow it down. I would take up too much space to reminisce (sp?). So, I must say "Thank you" for this thread. It is bringing back many memories for me.

Today I was driving and heard "Ice Ice Baby".....I had to turn it up!!!! It was my first concert to ever attend....... I loved that man and his baggy pants!

"On the Wings of Love" reminds me of one of the first girls I ever really and passionately kissed. Funny thing is that relationship ended sort of abruptly and now I cannot STAND that song.

this one doesn't remind me of anyone in particular...
