Reminescing
I'm getting ready to go do the shopping thing tomorrow and am studying my guy's wish lists. That, and the My Little Pony thread Rabbit started got me thinking...
What was it you loved playing with as a kid? |
Matchbox cars...my pride and joy...my Mum used to buy me a new one every week
*LOL* |
My glow worm, and my fraggle dolls.........yes I was a child of the 80s.
|
Barbies, coloring books and my light bright
|
My friend and I in Baltimore (1950-53) used to have a few of those "Gorki" or "Gorky" cars and trucks (they were really neat British metal cars and trucks and we played with them on a small slope behind where we lived for hours at a time. We called ourselves the Harrison (me) and Duffy (him) Lumber Company. That wasn't our last names but we always used them as the theme for our adventures. No idea why anymore, but we had a ball.

Before I discovered Barbie's at age 7, I liked to make mudpies in my outdoor kitchen.

Baby dolls, any kind of baby doll as long as she was 'huggable' and had clothes!
Followed by Barbie and all her friends; Ken, Midge, Allen, Skipper, Scooter, etc. |

I loved Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. I also loved toy guns and playing cowboys and indians. |

A cold shower might make that go away... |
I would go thru phases with different favs, but seems like I always came back to cars...yes, Matchbox, when they actually came in their own individual "matchbox", instead of the blister packs they come in nowadays, but almost all types of toy cars appealed to me, Tootsietoys, some Tonkas, & of course building the AMT plastic models, I think some of the brain damage I have now may be due to inhaling all that Testor's cement (warning: contains toloene)...
|
I had the usual stuff to play with but my favorite things were my roller skates, my bike, hula hoop and skipping rope.
|
Your dating yourself ^^. My bike and some toy that had a stick and a round plastic disk that would spin on the stick. Anyone remeber the name of that toy?
|
I remember that toy Lion.......but not the name. :(
|
ohhh..Lego's!
And I read alot. I don't know if books are toys... |
coloring books... they were one of my favorites. Just a few years back I went out and got one with a small box of crayolas for old times sake... I think I'll take that trip down memory lane again this Christmas :)
