Dance?
"I like the way you move" is just on the radio, and hell it makes me want to dance... but which tunes grab you?
Alan |
Just about anything. I love to dance.
|
I have all the grace of a drunken elephant dancing on broken glass, but love anything slow and cuddly. I don't mind a dance either.
|
lol... you lot!!... name a tune at least!!
|
I didn't realise this was a game show, oh well, "Stay".
|
"Blue Moon" for something slow
When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip" for something a tad faster/raunchier |
ahhh now slow dancing is quite something. The very first time i asked a girl to dance, the tune changed from a boppy number to 10cc's I'm Not In Love... i nearly bolted for the door but she wrestled me into submission before checking the location of my tonsils with her tongue.
I rather like Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton too. |
Stranger in Paradise.
|
i have to say... i haven't heard of the dippy thing,,, got me curious though, I like dipping.
Erm... which stay are we talking about OldFart? |
Jackson Brown "Stay (just a little bit longer)"
|
Slow dance songs:
At Last - Etta James Come Away With Me - Norah Jones Let's Stay Together - Al Green Someone To Watch Over Me - Ella Fitzgerald ( warning I will sing this one when we dance) At This Moment - Billy Vera Crazy Love - Van Morrison Bed of Roses - Bon Jovi Before The Next Teardrop Falls - Freddy Fender Chances Are - Johnny Mathis Colour My World - Chicago Drive - The Cars How 'Bout Us - Champaign I Only Have Eyes For You - Flamingos (more singing) Killing Me Softly With His Song - Roberta Flack Let's Get It On - Marvin Gaye Maybe I'm Amazed - Paul McCartney & Wings Moonlight Serenade - Glen Miller One In A Million You - Larry Graham (swoons) Rush, Rush - Paula Abdul Shame On The Moon - Bob Seger Since I Fell For You - Lenny Welch Swaying To The Music (Slow Dancing) - Johnny Rivers To Be With You - Mr. Big Turn Off The Lights - Teddy Pendergrass When I Look To The Sky - Train (this one makes me think of a man/boy who *shrugged*) Wicked Game - Chris Isaak (this one too) |
Oh, I love Jackson Brown/Eagles stuff.
And I see Lilith has a good selection too. I love Killing me softly. Well i did until l learned it on guitar... I played it to death whilst i did that, lol. As for Van Morrison... soo intoxicating his music. I love Tupelo Honey. |
My kid and I right now have this thing that whenever "My Humps" By the Black Eyed Peas comes on we crank it up and shake what our mama gave us. The sad thing is that I actually know most the words. :D
|
i seriously need to listen to music more.... i live infear of waking my kid up, so i only get music in the car these days.
|
Procol Harum "Whiter Shade of Pale"
|
And who can resist "Moon River"?
|
ohhhh... another of my faves. I just bought a keyboard and it has the perfect sound for that. Great to listen to and great to play too.
|
For fast dancing I must confess an affection for cheesy disco music :D

"I can't fight this feeling" by REO Speedwagon
Fast songs....today I listened to Queen's "Fat Bottom Girls" |

I LOVE that ^^ too! |
Songs I can't fail to move to:
'She's only happy when she's dancing' - Bryan Adams 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light' - Meatloaf 'Tears (Enough is Enough)' by Barbara Streisand & Donna Summer And for the cheesey wedding song dance list: 'Love Shack' by the B52s 'It's Raining Men' by the Weather Girls 'Big Spender' by Shirley Bassey 'I'm walking on Sunshine' by Katrina and the Waves 'Livin' La Vida Loca' by Ricky Martin 'Do you love me?' from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack...the name of the artist escapes me at this moment in time. I love to dance, and have no problem with throwing shapes whenever I hear a song that gives me the urge....even if I'm in the middle of the supermarket at the time! I have to say though Al, I love 'I like the way you move' but I think it's such a horny song the only dancing it makes me want to do is the horizontal kind! |
I can't resist Thunderstruck by AC/DC. Get's me everytime! *watches Steph cringe*
But I can and will dance to just about anything, but rap. And thinking about it now...there might be one or two I could tap out a beat to. For something slow...Areosmith's I Don't Want To Miss A Thing! |

So what you're telling me is you'll dance to fingernails scraping across a blackboard? :D I like dancing to hip hop -- 50 Cent, Snoop, etc., electronica, drum & bass, breaks, etc. & Irish jigs. :) |
I love music and I love to dance! I have two teenage boys and I have even come to like some of their music. We have been known to dance in the car, the grocery store, the department store, everywhere, they aren't a bit shy. We crank the radio up in the car, grab whatever is handy to use as a microphone, and sing going down the road....who cares if we get some strange looks! lol
|

First time I've ever seen 50 Cent and Irish jig used in the same sentence. |
Anything old...especially Sinatra, but Madonna's "Crazy For You" can not NOT be danced to.
And for sump'in jiggy...well, Rihanna's Pon De Replay :D Damn that song makes my body wanna wiggle like it ain't supposed to. ha ha |
AckerDacker's (AC/DC's) You Shook Me All Night Long...Back In Black...T.N.T....Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap...Thunderstruck
Go Aussie! |
Kashmir always makes me wanna dance... but in private. With someone special. Dig? ;)
|

That just reminded me of when i was about 18. I was just about living in the folk club. A lot of folk bands had really got into the electric thing and thre was a huge following for the irish and scottish dance music. It wasn't quite as wild as the scenes from Titanic, but the spirit was there non the less. Alan |

Loulabelle just named half my record collection, lol. And was it you in the super market the other day that knocked over the beans stack? Now, lets play "i like the way you move" in walmart and see if Loulabelle shocks any senior citizens with this new horizontal dance craze!!! |

May i suggest you jump to the left? A while back I went to the last stage performance of the original production company. It was quite something with people travelling from all over the world - the vast majority in "suitable" clothing. You should have seen the queue to get in... what a sight. It is a night that will always stick in my memory. The crowd new every word and actually joined in with much of the dialogue. Every time Janet appeared, they shouted "slut" and "asshole!" for Brad. Over the years the crowd had developed its own jokes routine too, so at one point there was a hail of "twix" bars and at others everyone threw rice and squirted water pistols. Of course there was also the time warp. At the time i was on the front row of the balcony and quite honestly it was scary. The building just couldn't cope with the jumping and the entire balcony was bouncing up ad down. When the spot lights started to swing loose over the heads of the crowd below, the management had the unenviable task of stopping everyone upstairs from dancing. Didn't go down to well, i can tell you. Sorry, i am drivelling on! |
