Bend Over and Say Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Just checking for a pulse. :D

Someone just left me a sweet little note telling me Pixies was dying so I thought I'd better check.

Funny, I still feel something throbbing.;)

IAKaraokeGirl 07-21-2005 02:04 PM

Well, things *have* been a little slow here today, but I thought it was just because it's so freaking HOT and dry that no one wants to even MOVE. :wobble:

Lilith 07-21-2005 02:06 PM

Things slow down and pick up based on what is happening in people's lives.

It's definitely hot here but not at all dry. Humid.

IAKaraokeGirl 07-21-2005 02:58 PM

Oh, the *air* is humid--but we're over 6 inches below normal rainfall since May. It's bad, as I'm sure other midwest Pixies can attest.

Fangtasia 07-21-2005 03:08 PM

Pixies dying?....i think not!

Just busy people is all....well i know i have been...and now i got a damn wog so been fighting that bloody thing...havent really felt like being online

I may feel like i'm dying but Pixies isnt *LOL*

BIBI 07-21-2005 03:13 PM

I don't think Pixies is dying. I just think some are on mini vacations at another site. They will get bored and come back, well maybe a few won't but then that is their loss.

scotzoidman 07-21-2005 03:20 PM

I remember when Pixies was young, full of potential but unsure of what its personality might be...there were growing pains, to be sure, but it was always full of energy...then it became an adolescent of sorts, sometimes moody & unpredictible...maybe now pixies is just maturing, & doesn't have time for the childish tantrums anymore...

...of course, I may be full of shit as well, but that's my take...

WildIrish 07-21-2005 03:21 PM

I have spurts of posting activity. (Not to be confused with the posts of spurting activity) :p There's times when I just don't say something because I worry that peeps get tired of hearing me.

Then there's always the age old adage "Better to remain silent and be thought of as stupid than to speak and eliminate all doubt." :D

Steph 07-21-2005 03:43 PM

It doesn't seem slower to me. It seemed a bit slower a few months ago but it's been the same as usual lately.

Then again, I haven't been around much this week because I'm getting some. :better:

wyndhy 07-21-2005 03:46 PM

a "sweet" note, eh? :p:D
*fondles and squeezes everyone within reach* nope...i definately feel some life. ;)
i think the new picture rules have probably turned some people away and toward other sites but since that's not the reason i hang around, i'm still ...uh...around

(i could never get tired of hearing you WI...especially if you're breathing hard and moaning :D)

Cheyanne 07-21-2005 04:44 PM

It seems like Pixies gets slow during the Spring/Summer months...last year there were questions like this too.. I think since there is more to do outside, peeps are just busy... when it starts to get dark sooner and then cold, more will participate.. :D

/me intentionally misinterpret's that to mean "everyone's outside taking pictures" :D

Pita 07-21-2005 05:26 PM

Ohhhhhhh that will never happen. I have been posting less because of other obligations right now but I still make it here at least once a day to check things out. Pixies is home! :D

Is that the quality of postings or something else you've got your hands on there Lilith?

sodaklostsoul 07-21-2005 11:12 PM

With long time members here.......Pixies will never die. I may have only been here just over a year, but I plan on staying a hell of a lot of many more years.

RandyGal 07-21-2005 11:22 PM

Ahhhh perfectly normal IMHO. All the sites I've belonged to had times of ebb and flow.......busy, then slow.....back and forth...

honestly summer IS one time when it's slower, mid July being the exact time in fact. That's when I used to renew my websites membership, when the posts/views were down meant the prices would be lower. LOL

Yep, the appropriate amount of activity for a nice normal website. Don't know if the membership is normal though. :jester:

GingerV 07-22-2005 02:23 AM

Did anyone else just get an image of Lil in a sexy little nurse's outfit?

Aside from the fact that quality (of posts, or anything else) is more important than quantity, I think some folks may just be looking for something to gripe about.

dicksbro 07-22-2005 02:26 AM

I think I agree with some of the others ... summers are busy with vacations, family, outdoors activities, hurricanes :( , and all the rest ... and I do think last year slowed a bit in the summer. Me, I've glanced at other sites at times, but have never found any that I cared as much about as Pixies. The people and the place are magical and keep drawing me back.

I've missed some that have moved on, but delighted in some that have joined and become active.

And, I think in Lil, Alasse, fzzy, and Aqua ... the site is blessed with some of the most talented and caring mods around. My hat is truly off to all of you ... you're the best!

Oldfart 07-22-2005 04:43 AM

Pixies has had to deal with authorities moving the goalposts, and this has led to some

subdued activity here as we re-assess our boundaries.

Reports of our impending death are premature.

Are you checking rectal temperatures too?

Sugarsprinkles 07-23-2005 06:57 PM

I'm sure the new rules and regulations have something to do with slower activity, as well as people being busy with families and summertime activities.

Personally, I've had family issues. My wonderful mother-in-law passed away last week and we had to travel back to Detroit for the funeral. We stayed with our two sons who still live in the area and spent week post-funeral. It was good to see all the family again, in spite of the circumstances. We hadn't seen everyone since we moved 2 1/2 years ago.
My mother-in-law was one of the very best..........I'm the wife and mother I am today because of her. I'll miss her till the day I die. If I could have chosed any mother-in-law in the world, I would have chosen her.

So, I don't think Pixie's is dying.............just taking a rest.
