I just want to add, there couldn't have been a more appropriate day to go for Scotty.

Today is the anniversary of mans first landing on the moon.

He (his ashes) should be the first thing that gets sent in the teleporter thingy they are developing that uses the vacuum thingy like at the bank.

Lil - I completely agree. That would be the most appropriate honor I can think of.

At least take his ashes on the next space shuttle launch!

NASA needs toget the Enterprise back from the Smithsonian and put it in service. That would be the best vehicle other than :teleport:

In his honor, a nice Scottish joke I heard earlier tonite:

Somehow I have this vision of Scotty and Bones setting around drinking romulan ale and telling vulcan jokes.

In the Star Trek Next Generation story where Scotty was found, the last survivor

of a ship crash, trapped in a transporter buffer, he made the point (eventually)that

you always had to look forward or you lose yourself in your past.

Onward and higher, Mr Scott.

Rest in peace Mr. Doohan. I heard this news the morning I left on vacation and was bummed I wasn't here to post and read the other posts I knew were coming.
