Rental Ideas
Sleepers?
Anything you liked that wasn't a huge hit but you really enjoyed? I need to update my Netflix que. I just watched Shaun of the Dead and found it hillarious  If you can stand all the gore and blood you should check it out. |
Lilith,
If you have not yet seen The Birdcage, and are looking for good acting & dialog, Hackman & Williams are well worth the rental. |
"Shaun of the Dead" was brilliant.
|
I watched both Birdcage and a screen adaption of La Cage... last week even. I agree good stand bys.
Oldfart~ I loved the record albums :p |
I think I am the only person that liked the move...Rat Race.
John Lovitz was hilarious in it. Little things happened to him in the movie that led up to a side splitting scene.... |
I have not seen that one yet. I'll add it!
|
loved shaun of the dead
have you seen 21 grams. i liked that one |
No I have not! I'll check it out.
|
I have'nt rented movies forever......way behind!!
|
Speaking of rentals. When I was in Fla recently,we didn't have a TV connection, for one week. There was a VCR hooked up to the TV.I had some pre-recorded tapes, but went to Blockbuster,to rent some more. The Melbourne
Blockbuster, only has DVDs now.I just thought that I would tell everyone.I have,aDVD & a VCR in NH,but NO DVD as yet in Fla! Irish |
Lilith,
You may want to consider classics like 2001: A Space Odyssey & Citizen Kane. |
I still love "Undercover Blues" with Kathleen Turner and Dennis Quaid. Absolutely histarical super spy show! One of my favorite movies of all times.
|
how 'bout elephant man?
|
i am not an animal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I like renting seasons of TV shows like "Curb Your Enthusiasm" & "Family Guy".
|
Great ideas...many of the last ones I have seen but great suggestions for anyone who has not.
|
Lilith, I would recomend The Governess.1997 with Minnie Driver. Not really sexual, but in my opinion it is a very erotic movie.I think you would like it.

Ummmm...yessssssssssssssssssss. One of my top 10 all time faves...I've watched a zillion and 51 times. |
Your thread caused me to google a true sleeper I stumbled upon a few years ago at a local non-chain store. The Red Tent is a spaghetti production with Sean Connery that I never heard of before or since. If you’re interested in a movie that every gender and age of the family will find their asses being creased by the edge of their chair, this will do it.;)
|
I know you may not believe anyone could be interested in these movies, but I'm telling you I was addicted..my ex even destroyed the tapes I watched them so much....hey I was pregnant and on bedrest..what did he expect? lol
The original Highlander movies with Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery :) |
I recommend Memento, which is one of my all-time favorite movies, and Secretary, which is also good.
|
"The Notebook!" Makes ya feel good and sad all at the same time...
|
Great suggestions...I'm dying to see Secretary and I read Notebook :(((((((((((((((
|
these are older ones. but i don't really watch many new movies...
American History X - good good story To Kill a Mockingbird - Gregory Peck is the man. Also a great book Brian's Song - whether you like football or not, this movie will touch your heart |
Rainmaker
A League of Their Own Shawshank Redemption Those are a few of my favorites.. :D |
Mad House...With John Larroquette..One of the funniest movies I ever saw..Best role I think Kirstie Allie(not sure about spelling,i'm a guy),ever played too..They're great in this one..
