How Many???

Approximately how many people were in your graduating class in high school?

cherrypie7788 03-01-2005 07:26 AM

Coming into high school, we had over 200 students in our class. Over the next few years, due to failures, drop outs, pregnancies, moving etc we graduated with something like 49, I believe.

You might think that's completely unbelievable, but in my small rural school system, a "big" graduating class was 80. A HUGE class was 100.

jseal 03-01-2005 07:37 AM

It was a small school, and yet there are those who love it; 80. With apologies.

WildIrish 03-01-2005 07:42 AM

Out of the 603 people that started, the graduating class was 520.

IAKaraokeGirl 03-01-2005 09:01 AM

I graduated in a class slightly smaller than my sister's the next year, in a class of 494. After my sister graduated, they finished building the second high school for the county. They now have three. :rolleyes2 Somehow, it's not the same.

As a contrast, my daughter, who started kindergarten less than a block away from our home this year, will graduate in 2018 in a class of approximately 51. There are three k classes of 17 each, and only one elementary, middle and high school in our town.

between 30 and 35.

DangerousPet 03-01-2005 11:47 AM

There were 623 people in my graduating class.
I went to a big high school, over 2400 students went there, plus the faculty an staff... so total on any given day there were about 3000 people in my school. and now i go to PSU with 40,000 on main branch... guess i just cant get away from lots of people!!

dicksbro 03-01-2005 11:51 AM

I honestly don't remember, but I'd guess between 500 and 600.

Well, it was an odd situation. I only saw my 'graduating class' the day I found out I was graduating. (Long story) :rolleyes2

I think the number was 254 (but really it was more like 500) it was a complex school system that figured out how to maximize tax benefits and minimize expense... smart school system if I do say so myself.

fzzy 03-01-2005 09:56 PM

I moved from one state to another just before my sr year in highschool .... and my mom still lived in the first town, so I feel like I really have 2 graduating classes ... the one I moved from ... 33 (22 girls, 11 guys - prom night was a pain to find all the dates!!!!) the one I moved to had almost 400 if memory serves me correctly.

According to figures from an alumini directory I got a few years back, it was over 500 when I got tired of counting...mine was the largest class ever graduated from Johnny O, & it took 2 sheets for our senior class photos...my brother's class, 7 years earlier, had been on 1 sheet with room to spare...& yet he was a part of what I always considered the true Baby Boomer generation...

d5254t 03-02-2005 11:13 AM

I believe around 730...... If I remember right :-)

Scarecrow 03-02-2005 05:23 PM

The class I was with through my Jr. year 450, we then moved for my Sr. year and that class only had 110 in it.

Vicious Tease 03-02-2005 05:57 PM

somewhere in the neighborhood of 500

Cheyanne 03-02-2005 06:38 PM

We had a little over 400...

Why do you ask??? I am curious.. :D

Lilith 03-02-2005 07:44 PM

cbass1976 03-02-2005 11:27 PM

BigBear57 03-03-2005 05:02 AM

cherrypie7788 03-03-2005 07:32 AM

I cant imagine having 500, 600, 700 in my graduating class....I can tell you the names of every person that walked across the stage, and probably tell you all the dirt on them too :D lol

1nutworld 03-04-2005 08:18 PM

about 310 in my graduating class....

texascubfan 03-05-2005 02:50 PM

605 and we were the first class to graduate outdoors in austin texas, at least in the recent future. i mean, i'm sure back in the late 1800's or mabye even early 1900's there were some outdoor graduations. afterall, that was before A/C. and of course WEEL before AC/DC, which is a cool band, but not as cool a regular A/C. our A/C went out one time in december and i konw you're all thinking "what was he doing running the A/C in december, but remember, this is Texas. It's been 100 degrees here in february before. ferbruary....why is it spelled like that? no one hardly ever says it like it's spelled. what was i saying? oh yeah, there were 605 people in my graduating class.

jay-t 03-05-2005 03:41 PM

41 after 30+ years all but about 5 still keep track of each other
