Are You My Mama?
3 Attachment(s)
My sister sent me these pics in email the other day. The story said that the momma was killed by a car and a couple adopted the baby till it was strong enough to go to a better home. Seems "momma's" come in many forms.
Enjoy! |
How precious!

Awwwwwww a bambi......couldn't ya just cuddle it!!
|
That is so sweet. A lady my mom used to work with many years ago had a doberman, who had just given birth, that adopted a motherless fawn. I would never have believed it, if I hadn't seen the pictures of the doberman nursing the fawn! Humans should be so tolerant of others.

My dad hit a doe once and then when he got out to make sure it was dead and not suffering he looked over and saw a little fawn like that laying in the brush beside the road, scared and shaking. Dad just walked over and the fawn never moved and just let him pick her up and he brought her home to me to take care of. We bottle fed her and loved her and it was the most amazing experience of my life next to raising my own child. I have pictures of her somewhere...I'll have to find them.
Unfortunately, when she was about full grown, she got in an ant bed and had a bad allergic reaction. We took her to the vet and he gave her a penicillin shot that was too strong for her little body and she shut down and died one day while I was at school. I haven't cried that hard since then. It was like losing my own child. :( |
Those are precious Lixy!

Oh my gosh! That is the cutest thing ever!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
|

|
I loved those pics, too cute!
|
I'm so glad you guys enjoyed the pics!
BTW...I forgot to tell you that the family dog is male! How tolerant of him to share his bed with the fawn, eh? I can't tell if the fawn is male or female from the pics. Any guesses? I don't see any buttons...but it could be too small still. I just LOVE stories like this! |
From the head shape and the size of its ears compared to its body, I'd guess it was probably a male. Females tend to have a lot bigger ears and not as big foreheads....I guess its an antler thing

Oh...cool Galatea! I didn't know that! Geezzzzzzz...the things you learn here! LOL!
