EEK!!!! Blind Date!! HELP!!
 

Yep.. you read that right... me.. the one who seldom steps out of my comfort zone has agreed (am I crazy?) to go on a BLIND DATE tomorrow nite... YIKES!!

I have NEVER been on a blind date... and to put it mildly I am a bit nervous about it... not only it being a blind date.. but the first "date" that I have had in YEARS...

HELP!!! I need advice... words of encouragement... things to avoid... topics to discuss... etc... PLEASE help...

btw... date is scheduled for 7 pm CST... so hurry.. PLEASE ;)

Dont worry JF, you will be fine, stay away from politics, but current event are fine. let him lead the conversation, that will tell you how interested he is in you or whether he can have an original thought. dont be nervous though! you are a great woman! it is up to him to impress you!

Do you know where you are going and what you will be doing?

First date kinda thing would maybe be dinner and a movie...

First thing - I would drive myself and meet the date at a pre-arranged spot. That way if you want to end the date you have the ability ot leave and not be dependant on him to drive you somewhere.

Make sure that you bring enough money to cover any expense for yourself - just in case. I would also - depending on what you are wearing, carry a wallet like a man's wallet, instead of a purse - unless you are wanting to freshen up your makeup. The less things I have to worry about keeping track of the better.

I would also be comfortable in what I am wearing. I don't want to be messing with pantyhose that won't stay up, or man - my feet hurt in these shoes. I don't want to have to worry about tugging or adjusting.

And Jenna, be yourself - smart, funny, opinionated and passionate.

Topics to maybe avoid - politics, old boyfriends/girlfriend/wives/husbands, children.

Topics to maybe talk about - movies, music, education, hobbies, job, vacations. You can find out a lot about a person by discovering their interests, not their hangups.

Most of all just relax and have fun. Remember, you aren't the only one that is nervous. It is a blind date for him too!!! :D

What to talk about? Him of course. Ask good questions and listen to the answers. I *know* you're a good listener. :)

:D Don't forget to smile -- a lot -- and laugh. Nobody wants to be around someone who is serious all the time.

If you think it's going well -- and I am sure it will -- touch his hand or something. Be natural! Wait for him to return your touch later. It's a good signal. ;)

Don't invest too much int his one experience....it's just a casual meeting....if HE screws up and ISN'T the one, it'll be his loss. :D

My advice (keep in mind I'm probably just as "rusty" at this stuff as you) ... treat it more like an opportunity to meet and get to know someone who you've never met before (not as a date, but just a chance to sit down and get to know another human being) and go with the intention that you are going to have fun ... whether or not he does is up to him. :) sending you wonderful wishes for the evening!

I woke up this morning... with this strong desire to make a change... so I got in my car went to my hairdresser and decided (on the spur of the moment) to cut off 6+ inches and add LOTS of highlights... so now I am a lighter blonde than I was :) with LOTS less hair (just below my shoulders now).

Still haven't decided what to wear...

Black jeans? Black cord pants?
Black long sleeve cotton tee? Red OR Striped Pink Soft Sweater? White Dress shirt with black pinstripes? Black Sweater with white/gray pin stripe collar/cuffs?

If I remember right, you have great breasts, which shirt/sweater shows them off?

If you wear the jeans wear the red or the pinstripes, the cords do the pink stripe or the cuffed/striped sweater.
