For the mIRC-challenged...how do we set our mIRC for the new server? Or how do we re-register???

I know you both (and others) have gone to a lot of trouble on our behalves. I just want you to know it is appreciated. And I am sure I speak for many many others.

I have a small suggestion, I'm an Op in quite a few rooms on another sex orientated server that doesn't seem to have the problems as the one you all just moved from...feel free to get in touch with me if you'd like to consider a PP room on that server

If you are using mIRC and it is still set to the old server you can type

/msg GhostCat
/msg CasperTG

once connected and they will be glad to help you to change servers

I'll see what I can do over the next couple of nights if anyone still has questions. Having a laptop AND a PC I can be in both places at once (but keeping up with convos might be a different story...).

OK, I know I am pretty dumb with computers... I don't have mIRC. and the instructions won't download, and I only know how to get to the chat by going through pixies... so when will that work again?

Madmax67 has made a version of mIRC just for us Pixies! This is a great version and the perfect time to try mIRC!

I have made two versions...one for beginners that includes mirc, and another for more advanced users that is just the script.

PixiemIRC (including mIRC)

PixieScript (without mIRC)

pushin this up.. no doubt many pixie's may be interested in joining the fun.. since Madmax has made it so much easier :)

New version of pixiemirc out. This fixes some slight problems mainly with the song player, and adds a couple of nice extras.

If you have the old one and it's working ok, then you can use pixiescript to update (you will need to unload songs.mrc and bots.mrc when you have upgraded and delete them from your scripts folder)

Sorry, another update...last one had a potentially fatal flaw :/ New version is 1.3. If you have version 1.2, you need to upgrade using the pixiescript.

Another update, this time for the popups. You can simply download the update if you have PixiemIRC 1.3 or earlier. There was another slight bug that meant the auto script loading function wasn't working correctly.

You can upgrade all existing versions using pixiescript.

OK, made a new version with minor fixes, but I have added custom graphics and icons. Also made a website for it so you can keep posted on the latest developments.

As a computer illiterate person who had to be talked through every tiny step to be able to use the chatroom in the first place (BIG thank you to airhog for his help and his patience!), I'm scared to try to use either of the new systems. I'm afraid I'll be like Hansel and Gretel w/o any breadcrumbs. Will I be OK to just continue to use the old system the way it presently is set up? I'm afraid if I try to use either of those presented here, I'll screw up the new AND my original and be lost in Neverneverland.

BlueSwede: maybe a few more posts of your wonderfully formed body in the Amateurs forum could persuade me to help you install it :D

DOH! when I go to install the software (pixiemirc_1_5.exe) I get a RunTime error "216 at 000077C3".

I went to FAQs but don't see how to register our nics. Any tips?

PixiemIRC was developed to take care of identifying. It will automatically identify you. You can register nicks using the PixiemIRC -> nick menu. Once you have a nick registered, you will be automatically identified when you sign on or need to identify.

I would highly suggest that you consider downloading this chat enabling tool. Those people who had mIRC were still able to get together and play in chat while the site was down recently. Came in very handy!!!

With the good news of Pixies-Place continueing, I released a new version. This fixes a couple of things, mostly to do with changing passwords :)

Max, you rock! Another question from a mIRC newbie - our PC is temporarily (I hope!) down for the count and I'm using an iMac. I tried to download mIRC (cuz I'm a chat addict) but it's telling me I don't have the proper apps. Is it because i'm using a Mac?

I'm afraid mIRC is only for windows. A popular mac client can be found on the Ircle website at http://www.ircle.com/
