My wife and I were sitting out on a "park bench" we have in front of our house yesterday when she looked up into one of the birch trees we have there. She saw something and asked what it was ...

Ended up it was four young owls resting. Tried to get pictures and attached three. The first is one that had it's back turned while the other two are of the one most visible to us.

Boy, when we go to the birds ... we go for the whole dang flock of them. :D :D

Here's a better one of the one facing us ... (actually the next two are of it).

I've loved owls for many years. At Chessington World Of Adventures recently, I saw this cute owl on one of those "demos" they do for kids, where they hold it on a protective glove. What amazes me is their lovely shape, and the way their face looks like it's been carved out perfectly with a knife.

Barn owls are my favourites.

and here i though DB had been eatin wings and oggling breastesses!

great pictures though, DB. in ancient greece, owls were thought to be bringers of good fortune, i hope they bring good fortune to you and yours!

Awwwwwww ((((((db and Mrs. db))))), the wee owls are so sweet! You know...you won't have many mice with that covey (do owls come in covey's?...ahhhh, so what!) of owls around. Matter of fact, keep any puppies and kittens protected as well!

Oooh, little baby screech owls. We get a fair number of them at teh center where I work.
