Godamnit - the itching is gonna kill me!

Let's just say I shaved something that has never seen a razor before and now the itching is gonna kill me!!!!!!!!!!!
and there isn't even a man around to appreciate it! next time I get bored reading my book in the bath I'm just getting out!!

PantyFanatic 06-01-2004 12:48 PM

Maybe you didn't do it right. You better let me check it out. :lust:

Englishlush 06-01-2004 12:49 PM

Lilith 06-01-2004 12:50 PM

Bikini Zone

Gilly 06-01-2004 12:55 PM

Lots and lots of lotion, and fresh clean sharp razor next time. ;) Always, always, always go WITH the grain of growth the first few times, until your body is used to it.

Englishlush 06-01-2004 12:58 PM

I did!!!!!! *swears copiously under her breath*

I spent the entire day at work either wanting to scratch or slapping on moisturiser!

Gilly 06-01-2004 01:03 PM

The more you itch at it, the more irritated it will be, and thus, the more it will itch. Try some hydrocortizone cream.

GingerV 06-01-2004 01:23 PM

[mentally puts another tick in the box marked "not gonna"] Sounds miserable. Hope you find something to sooth you, or at least take your mind off the troubles ;).

WildIrish 06-01-2004 01:46 PM

I really need to see it to make a proper diagnosis.

I mean it...I really need to see it Lush!

I'll show you mine if you show me yours? LMAO...at this point, I'm pretty sure it would be more desireable to offer me NOT showing you mine! ha ha

Lush just be patient - different people react differently and often your skin just needs some time to get used to it. I can suggest starting out slowly and then increasing the frequency - ie shave once every two weeks for a few weeks, then once a week, then twice a week, then every other day etc. Then you're slowly getting your skin used to it. If you go helter skelter every day straight up your skin won't know what hit it!

And like others have said, try not to itch it too much. And some have had great success with hydrocortizone etc. I would suggest just a moisturiser with aloe vera, and if you start getting little red bumps - ingrown hairs - then use an exfoliant on it every second day or every day however often you need.

Good luck, once you get used to it believe me it's worth it!

Hun, you need the moisture applied by my tongue!:slurp:

naughtyangel 06-01-2004 10:08 PM

It'll get better the more often you do it :)

quisath 06-02-2004 07:22 AM

Dr. Q says ....................... "Let it GROW" and "PUT THAT RAZOR DOWN"

Then after all is well ........................... you must show me the results. ;)

Englishlush 06-02-2004 11:59 AM

Shave it every fortnight Caspar?? I can't go through this more than once!!! I'm going back to the forest look!!!
Sod this for a laugh!! (well until next time i get bored in the bath and start thinking - it didn't itch THAT much...........):p

nikki1979 06-02-2004 04:33 PM

huntersgirl 06-03-2004 08:19 AM

Englishlush~ I was just like you at the beginning, I swore never again! But then I did it again! lol...I am famous for changing my mind;) Anyway, as everyone said, it gets better I swear!

flutelady 06-03-2004 12:39 PM

I'm with Quisath... let it grow and keep it trimmed. No way I'm shaving, I do NOT want nubs there!

Mercury_Maniac 06-03-2004 02:19 PM

i have shaved several times,

and the first time it really itched like hell,

but the past few times it was ok, no real major itching,

i don't do it on a regular basis, i usually trim it now and then but hardly ever shave it, perhaps if there was someone to appreciate it i would shave it constantly :D

oh and if any of you ladies needs a young man to help apply that cream, just call me up,

maybe i should that for a living!

denny 06-03-2004 09:21 PM

You just need someone to help do it right. Any volunteers?

Grumble 06-04-2004 07:30 AM

I will back my friend Quisath
Nothing like a bird with a bush :D

Eros 06-05-2004 10:10 AM

I think you need 2 extra hands..one to apply the lotion..and another to scratch where it itches....and whaddayaknow?? I happen to have 2 extra hands!!!! :D

TheEnd 06-07-2004 02:28 PM

I'm usually well trimmed to shaved and it always bugs me the first time I shave after having gone awhile. When I keep it shaved it doesn't bother me anymore.

Wicked Wanda 06-12-2004 09:50 AM

First, try using baby oil AS you shave.
Second, EXFOLIATE like mad the first few times!!!
Or just have a nice, soothing wax (LOL) and just do "razor maintenance" as I do.

Barely,

WW

Englishlush 06-12-2004 11:53 AM

yeah next time i'm buying serious stocks of exfoliant & extra rich
moisturiser!!
