who puts their shower curtain/liner in the washing machine?

and uses the air canisters for electronics to dust knick-knacks?

Is there anyone else out there who takes every short cut possible when cleaning house? Any tips????

Lucky you - WE have a glass shower stall - I get to do the "Scrubbing Bubbles" thing weekly!

I do use the "bottled air" but only on the "guts" of the electronics (Keeps the chance of arcing and thermal shutdown to a minimum!)

The only thing that gets dusted regularly here are the picture tubes, and the black stuff (shelves, electronics, and the lava lamp...), or when the wife expects company - then it's a shared experience...

This isn't a cleaning tip so much as a how to hide something tip.

If you get unexpected company... unscrew the lightbulb in your bathroom and light a candle. It will be too dim for them to see if your bathroom is clean or not...

yeah guilty of the shower curtian and then about the air thing i wait till all the air freshner is gona and all that comes out is air to get the nic nacks and stuff plus the little bit of fragrance adds to the clean....sheesh i'm lazy

Don’t come crying to me about how housework has to be done. If you didn’t spend so much time inventing “coordinated colors” like “mauve”, you could have thought of some simpler ways to do things. There’s no question homes were designed to make the woman happy. Being a bachelor, I’ve had the opportunity to consider some practical alternatives.

Bathrooms, with lots of porcelain, ceramic, aluminum and mirrors, are as close to practical as we have in our homes. Can you say “Pressure Washer”?

The kitchen isn’t as bad as the rest of the house, but still not enough stainless steel being used. Why isn’t there a floor drain in this room? (and ever other room for that matter)

You seem to recognize the usefulness of compressed air with you little “key board” and “room freshener” cans. Why isn’t there a quick-connect fitting to your air compressor in every room? ….. right next to the 3 inch vacuum coupling? Which brings me to those silly little $1,000 vacuum cleaners. Shop vacs have wheels,….. and for a hell of a lot less, do a lot better job.

My morning shower has always given me time to just let my mind wonder. (don’t say it! ;) ) If you are really interested in conservation and water pollution, why isn’t there a little, raffle-type, wire tumbler in there with you, going around as all that soap and water are dripping off of you, with yesterdays clothes in it?

Next time we’ll talk about efficiency of sand blasting and the sanitary advantages of steam cleaning. :)

Garbage sacks are another useful tool along with paper plates and plastic utinsels. ;)

I actualy didn't look at putting your shower curtain in the wash a short cut. I thought it was the best way to get it the most clean. Is there another way, like hosing the thing off? Then again I grew up with my dad and he was a bachelor most of his life so a lot of things never got clean and I never noticed...until I had a house of my own! Lol

Eat over the sink- Quit wasting time with all the non-essentials. ;)

OK...I LOVE the Swiffer cloths for dusting -- they really trap the dust. And the mop is good for getting the cobwebs.

I ALWAYS throw wrinkled clothes into the dryer with a wet wash rag...gets out the wrinkles in no time.

I use the el-cheapo Mr. Clean powder scrubber for the bathroom tile...you DO have to scrub (but not for long!) and the bleach keeps it clean for longer.

If bees, wasps, hornets or yellowjackets get in your house and you don't have any bug spray.....try a spritz of Formula 409™. They drop to the ground instantly!

Rainy day cure for wet dogs! When they come in the house....rub them down with a Bounce (or any other brand) dryer sheet! Smells better than wet dog hair!

If you have a headache.....drink two glasses of Gatorade and the pain should go away immediately!

Cure urinary tract infections with Alka Seltzer! The product has never been advertised for it.....but if you dissolve two tabs in water at the onset.....and drink it, you are on your way to relief immediately!

Got a splinter? Slather Elmer's Glue over it and let dry....then peel it away and voila!

Oops! Got off the topic again. Well, those were home remedy shortcuts....anyway! I just clean the old fashioned way.......put everything I can in the dishwaser....and throw the stuff out that won't fit! :D

Mine are only good for small pictures.

Nipples are great for the nooks...not to mention the crannies.

The only things smaller than my boobs are my nooks and crannies!
