What do you read?
Sat here thinking about what the next book I'm going to read will be, and I was curious as to what the rest of you like to read. I myself read just about anything, two my faves are Terry Pratchett, Tom Clancy I also like to read Feist. I guess you could say I lie to read fantasy books.
|
Science Fiction/Fantasy is my first love
do read Romance & Erotic too |
Generally I love reading factual books dealing with historical ages. But, now and then I try other genre'. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy being a prime example. (All "5" books of the "Trilogy" :D)

Just so you know I decided to reread Terry Pratchetts Jingo

I don't read any one genre. I usually base my choices by personal reccommendations. I have read quite a bit of Rice, King and Koontz. I have a soft spot for African American literature especially Charles Chestnutt and Zora Neale Hurston.
|
Sci-Fi most of the time.
|
I read anything I can get my hands on. When I was 3 I would get into trouble for taking everything out of the kitchen pantry so I could read the labels. Normally at the beginning of a new semester I read my textbooks cover to cover in the first few weeks. My favorite author is probably Patricia Cornwell though b/c she writes (very well) about my desired profession (Forensic pathologist).
|
Have you read "Good Omens" that Pratchett wrote with Neil Gaiman (my all time fave)??? If not, give that a shot along with anything else by Gaiman. He's got the same humorus style but a bit darker.

Yeah...the butler did it and they all die at the end!! LOL |
Haha, I think you've got your books confused, I thought the Zebra did it.
|
Mysteries
|
I read mostly dark comdies but have been on a crime fiction kick as of late
|
I still have a long list of classics that I'm slowly reading. I also like history. I have not read that much in the mystery or fantasy catagory.
|
Just read Philip Pullman`s " His dark materials " trilogy fantastic!! really brilliant!!! would recommend then the first book I could not put down literally and read it in a day! thats good going for me!
|
It's a shame the poll isn't multiple choice. I, for one, don't stick to just one genre. I have varied tastes. Sadly the only reading I do much of these days is done online. The minute I pick up a book and try to read I fall right asleep. Really pisses me off because I LOVE to read!
|
I'm reading a little bit of everything...although I admit to a weakness for Robert Ludlum and Tom Clancy.
I'm currently reading: * Harvard Business Review on Management * 12 Bad Habits that Hold Good People Back * Marcus Aurelius * "The Persian Boy" by Mary Stewart (historical fiction) |
musketeer,
The classics. Not sure what group I should put them in. |

Osuche.........I LOVE Mary Stewart!! What is The Persian Boy about? I read her Merlin series and loved it so much I've read it twice. I lost some of the books between a fire and moving and have been diligently trying to find them again in hardcover. |
"The Persian Boy" is about Alexander the Great and his conquests of Persia and India. Very interesting and engaging -- I had to finish it in 2 days 'cause it drew me in!
|
Textbooks! :D |
I have recently also been reading C17th drill books to improve my skills as an offocer in a re-enactment group.
Sorry Sugarsprinkles I don't know how to make polls multi choice. Jseal, I thought about adding classics but was distracted and forgot - sorry. |
